Hot Rods My 1935 Ford , sedan to 5 window conversion

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by aw1950, Sep 19, 2023.

  1. Wow...you're saving a rough one! When done, it'll be less a '35 Ford and more of a Lincoln ER70S-6!

As a side request, when posting (and I look forward to your updates) please select full size images (it won't cost you anything and it makes it easier for those of us following along ;)).

  6. Was able to get some more work done in the last little bit hard to tell on the pictures as this is all inside the car tying the car all back together. The pillars are tied to the frame built subframe. That’s gonna divide the trunk in the interior compartment, not gonna be built like a 35 looks like inside, but this is a hot rod. It’ll look good but the purist won’t like it. My car my my car my way lol IMG_1216.jpeg IMG_1217.jpeg IMG_1218.jpeg IMG_1220.jpeg IMG_1221.jpeg IMG_1222.jpeg IMG_1216.jpeg IMG_1216.jpeg

So a new friend had a back half of a slant back that had a decent enough inner floor pan to work with and the quarters / rear panel that I will persuade into a coupe tail pan . He saved me $600.00 landed cost to be here in Canada . Have a look

That’s some serious dedication to your goal of a 5 window! I don’t even want to tell you how many I cut up for a couple roadster and coupe patches years ago

a few from recent , coming along

  18. More done , had to cut down two halves of a 36 hood . Modified to fit the 35 design rad support . There is a hole in the picture first one of two . They are both filled now plus I had to replace about 10 inches of the hood at the back to cowl area . Nice solid hood otherwise . Other pic is a repair on the window opening passenger side windshield. 23. More done or in process I should say . Tying in the quarter panel from door opening to wheel well reveal. Seeing that I don’t have the correct dies to roll the bead reveals along the bottom I am fabricating them instead . I will weld them on as seen in pictures . Stay tuned .

  24. More updates for you people who are watching along starting to tie in the sides of the car over to the trunk lead opening and using older sheet metal and as you can see in one of the pictures, newer sheet metal from an off topic style of car.
Remember this car was a two door humpback and I do not have the correct rear section or pieces at all of an actual Five window coupe. So I have to improvise and I will have a one off 35 coupe clone stay tuned. This will be interesting. More updates to come.

    Absolutely amazing work!

From time to time, I run across a thread on the H.A.M.B. that blows me away. This is one of them.

I visit quite a few online forums, but this is the only place I have found where you can see stuff like this.
