Is it just me and my iPhone 14 or do the HAMB webpages jump up and down randomly while scrolling through a thread? Seems like it’s due to all the pop up ads?
Pretty sure the app was discontinued some years ago due to privacy security issues with the provider that Ryan wasn't happy with. Chris
sometimes the thread jumps up and down as pictures are being loaded. I don't know about iphones or ads, because I use android and windows with firefox and ublock and never see any ads.
Hello, My wife has an Iphone 15 and sometimes it does that. It is the way one scrolls down the screen. Sometimes it goes fast and completes going to the bottom. Other times, it is touchy and jumps a little. Technology of the screen sensitivity. Not a HAMB tech issue. But, the Iphone 15 is built with better components and is a much more advanced tech for the time it came out, vs the Iphone 14. As each year tech is constantly being improved, the new Iphone 16 Pro is now on the market and far outcl***es both the 14 or 15. Our granddaughter and my wife are already getting a change from their 15s to the new larger Iphone Pro 16. The drawback may be fitting in tight pants or shallow pockets for security of falling out of them when getting in and out of a car bucket seat. Jnaki For those that use the phone screen and technology to view a daily place like the HAMB. Good luck... it is like driving a Crossley wagon versus a 57 Chevy Nomad. There is a big difference. Using the dinky screen, as large as it is for a phone, it does not compare to a 15-17 inch laptop screen for access to all points of the website, the tech and ease of writing stories/photos, etc "Struggling" is what seems to be the most complaints coming from a phone user. The HAMB app is gone, but you can still get the HAMB on any program, like Google or Firefox. But, it is tiny, yes, you can pinch to enlarge, but why? My Android phone is large and the screen is as large as the Iphone Pro 16. The tech is about the same, but it is a phone. (Not a daily use computer searching for information or researching a topic or two.) It is not my daily usage for any website, weather, mapping or researching history of any kind. We have a mapping service as most phones do, but we always know where we are going. Ha! A 17 inch screen versus a 4-5 inch screen says it all. The technology from the laptop surp***es the things needed to do relaxing reading and typing. A 17 inch screen vs. a 4-5 inch screen? What is not to like? But, for those folks that continue to use a phone... is it handy to have, but is difficult to compare the problems using them versus using a larger, more powerful technology like a laptop or home computer. Plus, for us older folks who do not use thumbs to type, two hand typing as we all learned in the 8th grade is so much more advanced and accurate on a laptop instead of miniature keys… I only had to make three typing errors in this whole story. YRMV … 5” x 3” versus a keyboard: 15” x 5” keys…
I think if you look closer you find out it is a bandwidth issue not a HAMB or IPhone issue. When my bandwidth is slow and low, my phone does the same thing. It did it on my laptop when I was using my phone's hot spot to get on line. Nothing in the phone's OS affects the hotspot to make the photos load slow and the screen jump. And since the phone is an IPhone and the laptop is my gaming laptop which I know is not lacking processing speed I would look to the one thing that was common, the download speed.
