You're probably better off building your own. The one my friend bought had two #8 bungs. He wanted a #10 to the pump, so he had to bring a pair of 8's out to a ''Y'' that increased to a #10.

Well, I took about 4 pics, so am no help. But, Travis “Royboy” Scanlan covered it, so we should have some good coverage soon. :D

The good news is that the Chevelle did great other than struggling to pass gas stations on the 150 mile trip it has been on today. Lots of folks commented on me not driving my 56, but they also didn’t know I had this car.

Only got a couple pics of the car today. Since we host the event, I happened to be the first person at the starting location. And, grabbed a pic along the route as well.

Since there were lots of OT cars on the run, this may be the best place to share the video from Travis.

Went to run some errands and go to a funeral today. The funeral was for one of my buddies from high school that was another car guy. I figured more guys might drive there old cars, but there were only 3 of us and pretty much everyone at the funeral was into cars. Anyway, now we just have to see what happens to all my buddies cars since he was married 3 times, has one 9 year old son, and no siblings. He had lots of stuff including 3 first generation Camaro’s, a very nice survivor 55 Chevy 2-door hardtop that still has original paint and was his dads, a couple Harley’s, etc. Likely going to be a mess.

Got one pic from downtown OKC at my optometrist that is also a car guy.

Guthrie, sorry you lost a friend. His kid is gonna need support, losing a parent is hard for a youngster.

Thanks man. His mom is as well. He was an only child and his mom lives alone after his dad died several years back. He was the one that ran her errands and took care of her. Thankfully, another buddies wife is helping her now.

Seems like a good time to get the slots ready to go on… :(
Got back on cleaning up the beads and trying to get them polished up. Considering taking them to a guy I heard about that makes them look like new. I’m not the best at polishing aluminum.

That's going to look amazing. You'll be backdating the car 20 years.

Well, that might be an option since I can’t seem to find the slots I need. :D

I like them but they are also going to have to grow on me if that makes sense. As much as I love slots on these cars, this one has had Welds for 33 years now. Definitely have to do something with the rear soon and need some center caps too.

I understand the feeling the slots need to grow. You get used to the car with a set of wheels for so long that it just looks odd, even though it looks great. I went through that with my 33 pickup. It had the same set of wheels on it from I was a toddler to my early 20s when I finally swapped them and it took a couple months before it was all good in my mind. Also helped was selling the old wheels and getting them far away from me to stop from temping to stick them back on the 33.

One thing I didn’t even consider on wheels this skinny (4”), is how much different they could be in backspacing. The slots are 1-1/2” more backspacing which sucked the wheels in that much. I like it but wasn’t expecting that.

Liking these cooler evenings and the fact that the car is running good. Seems I can find a reason pretty much every day to go to town. Last night, had to go to Tractor Supply to get some feed for the horse and tonight needed to run to the grocery store and the nursing home.

Also, seems I found my vibration at about 65 mph. Once I swapped the front wheels, it went away.

Hmm...now that I look...seems it was me and it is my "new" car. There is also a 69 427 vette now parked on the end. I'll grab another pic today. Oh, and a few of these were trailered it seems. Not everyone thought it a good idea to drive a few miles on a day with chance of rain. I just looked at the radar before heading on my 30 mile trip with slicks... :D

Needed a haircut today and my barber is in the next town over. Hard to find someone that still does decent flat tops. :D Anyway, good day to take the Chevelle on another drive.

Just a thought. YouTuber Mortske collects slots. Perhaps drop him an email. He doesn’t advertise anything. Car looks awesome!
