Looking for information or pictures from anyone who has widened the wheel wells on a 32 Ford, and any tips on the problems they encountered.
before it happen , move to off topic, I know some about, really no different then tubbing any other , fabrication and thought. The 5w went over 155 mph as seen in pic back around 91 , No cage on Mc Corey's Bottom 3w chopped & channeled.
I did widened the wheel wells on my deuce Vicky to accommodate trick 8's with 255/70R15 BFG's and then on my deuce delivery for the same tire. On the delivery they had to look stock as they showed in the finished interior.
Twenty years ago I widened the top of some sedan wheel wells so a tire would fit into them. Made them more coupe-like. I used a quarter moon strip with a turned edge to weld on top. Then a flat half moon panel with some ribs for strength as the upright portion. Plug welded the upright to the turned edge, and same to the subframe behind. Carefully fully welded the top curved panel to the existing wheelwell edge about an inch inside the outer bead. A lotta work for an extra two inches clearance at the top of the wheelwell.
While I didn't ask for pro-street, just widening some, I guess I should expect some really wide tire pics in the replys. Thanks for moving it.......... Personally I like the pro street too, but what I'm looking for is info about how they dealt with the width of the rear fender as well as making a tub inside. I don't think moving the stock inner wheel well will be a problem, though it may affect some other things....like putting a gas tank in the trunk......but just not sure if the fender will need modification as well. Anyway, ALL pictures of this kind of modification are welcome on this thread.
