I had a 73 Duster 340, mine was gray with the black stripe. I bought it for $200 cash with a 318 in it, then 2 weeks later I bought the original 340 (for $50) from the guy I bought the car from. He pulled the motor out when he tried to put headers on it, and antifreeze ran out of the exhaust manifold bolt holes. He thought the heads were bad, so he pulled the 55,000 mile 340 and shoved the high mile 318 in its place. I bought the car a couple years after he had pulled the 340.

I wish I could say I saved the car, but that was not what happened. I beat the crap out of it and the 318 was getting real sick. It was the end of our dirt track racing season, and I needed a new car for the next year. That $200 Duster was it! I cut it up and built a copy of a Chrysler Kit car, then ran it in the hobby stock class with a big block in it. The car got us to 3rd in the point standings the 1st year and in the top 10 the next two years. I replaced the big block with a small block, removed the front fenders and ran it in our new Modified class the next year, with it for sale. I had an old friend drive the car, and he was fast, so I installed the 340 with the 1/2 mile dirt tack build recommended in the DC Circle track (our track was a 1/2 mile track). The car was super competive, until someone showed up with the cash to buy the car.

Little brother's Belvedere. Very basic 318 car, got it from the little old lady who owned it since new. We were going to build a Wedge and put Torq-Thrusts on it and the usual stuff, but it's just too sweet the way it is.

Beautiful car, great decision. The 318 Poly is a nice running engine.

The late Steven Juliano's collection. Yes, there are cars shown.
On the far right is the Winston 71 cuda, Unrestored.
In the middle is a 1970 Challenger. IIRC, it's the highest optioned hemi Challenger. Fully restored.
Hidden on the left is the 71 cuda convert he used to daily drive, fully restored.
If you know the name, you know the cars and the stuff covering the walls and ceiling.
Oh, and the windshield frame in front? Diamonte.
It was a privilege to be there.

Incredible collection and a great guy. I saw his collection (partial) on display at Carlisle before he moved to California, amazing stuff. Huge loss to the hobby with his passing. You are lucky to have seen it in person at his home. The Brothers collection has some.of his stuff.

This was in California, when he was out there. Got an invite and made the time, you better believe!
It was before he got back into the Cobras.
