That body may or may not be considered "pristine", but it looks pretty darned good to me. Most folks (me included) would feel very lucky to have something that nice to start with.

Finished my headlights. Slightly tunneled 7" to 5.75" conversion.

  4. Got the busted up outer panel glued back together. Doing a glass check.
    Looks ok

has a couple layers of mat underneath. Made a backer piece for each side along the cut to screw it down to. About to glue this piece in so it can set up.
Left the center style line in just to line things up. It has cracks in the gel and I’ll grind those out after its glued in The outer will get a couple layers of mat plus an extra narrow strip along the splice

  5. Workin' on shock ladder bar combo mount. .

  10. Krylon, that's what I used on the front fenders last time, it matched really good

This time it looks more glossy, Rustoleum's satin black is real shiny now with it's new formula

Got asked to make a one off throttle body for a friend that runs a Turbo VW. Made this from 5-1/4" aluminum bar stock. Layout uses Hilborn style shaft, blade, arms, and stops. Need to TIG weld a V Band flang to the bottom end of it yet. Made this on my vertical mill.

I've seen an engine eat one of those. The guy took off his air cleaner and spun the wingnut back on the stud so he wouldn't lose it. He then made a pass down the drag strip and the wingnut spun itself off and went right down the wide open carb.

20241105_085914.jpg 20241105_153737.jpg Cut some housing ends off a junk Chevelle 10 bolt and shortened up a big ol Imapala 12 bolt and turned it into an early Chevy II 12 bolt:cool: will fit the Tempest perfectly.

Early Nova 12 bolt rears were hard to find in the mid 80's when I started looking for one and when you found one they were going for two to three times more money than the garden variety Chevelle, Impala, and Camaro versions, it took a few years to finally find mine and it needed some love as it had one bent axle and the other one had eaten up the hardened bearing surface, the story was it had actually been in a 69 Camaro that slammed a curb during a police chase.
I was at a Seattle area swap meet and a vendor was there with Nova parts and I mentioned that I was looking for some used 12 bolt axles and he says he had a pair at home in Spokane but didn't bring them because he wasn't sure he wanted to sell them, dig this, they were NOS GM axles.
After a few phone calls over a six month period he decided to sell them but said they wouldn't be cheap plus I would need to pay the freight from Spokane to Portland, well, hearing that, I was hesitant to ask how much he wanted and when he said $200 bucks plus the stamp I nearly dropped the phone.
Mailed him a CHECK:eek: and they showed up a week later, arriving in the original GM boxes, I installed them in the housing, rebuilt the brakes and within days had it in my 67.
I saved the boxes to brag to a friend what I paid as he had been looking for a pair longer than me, and when I called him and told him what I paid I think he too dropped the phone.
