Yeah man thanks - the only snag of this deed was that the lower alternator mount setup on the driver's side could not work because of my Vega steering box in the way... So looking up another lower alternator mount at Hot Heads, showed that the one I got from them can work on either side of the timing cover. Which could cause another problem of clearance issues from the lower radiator hose - we'll see...

Thank you for the kind words - I'm so psyched, now that the weather is FINALLY cooling down, my build will move along nicely in the garage...

Very cool and inspiration for others with "long term" projects.

Thanks for your compliments! Funny you mentioned this... Is it possible that I may have one of the LONGEST build length threads on the HAMB???

And mine is right between them. So are we competing for the least productive award?

Wish you the best on your '27 Tall T build!
Most likely not, as my goal is 2025 to get my '31 back on the street for my 30 year anniversary of ownership. I'm closer than ever...

If we are, I'm at 26 years and it's not looking good for me to complete mine :(

I hear you! Of course all our projects are older than out threads too. Glad I have young grandkids.

Just looked at your profile page and did not see any build that you're working on... What are you working on Mr. Stevens - is the project drivable at least?

It's a 58 Chevy Biscayne 2 door restomod and no it's not driveable. Unfortunately life has gotten in the way of me being able to work on it, at least for the near future. I am recovering from colon cancer surgery, my 3rd bout with cancer, so I am a spectator watching what others are doing.

Dick, Hope your recovery goes well and you are back at it soon. They are so much better at dealing with cancer than just a few years ago.

X2 - keep up reading on the HAMB as you've been doing for inspiration on your '58.

Cool deal, hopefully right behind ya. I do have the 52 Dodge to drive in the meantime.

    Happy Thanksgiving

  20. I've been working on my '29 Model AA Ford for more than 50 years, despite beating esophageal cancer 4-1/2 years ago, so I know how stuff gets in the way of progress. Here's to both of us getting our projects on the road and flipping the bird to cancer.

Hey Mike, here’s a few pics of the alternator mount on my Hemi. Kinda crappy so the offer stands for you to take a look 8CDE2734-A993-43BE-9155-07123AB6F807.jpeg 277D7DA8-4FBC-492C-8048-BD454F68B104.jpeg 65E6D61D-3B0E-4C2D-A554-075306C54909.jpeg AB22BD0D-6917-4118-8EA1-AB035066E8D5.jpeg 8CDE2734-A993-43BE-9155-07123AB6F807.jpeg 277D7DA8-4FBC-492C-8048-BD454F68B104.jpeg 65E6D61D-3B0E-4C2D-A554-075306C54909.jpeg AB22BD0D-6917-4118-8EA1-AB035066E8D5.jpeg

John, my Thanksgiving was excellent - are you making any progress on your extra project to finance a hot rod roller?
Coming from you - appreciate your compliment greatly!
Gonna try to reverse the driver's side alternator mount like it mentioned in Hot Heads website, but I may run into clearance issues on the passenger side where the lower hose mounts - we'll see... Also keep in mind that I'll be running a supercharger setup that I should be purchasing in 2 weeks or so, so the alternator mount needs to work with a 6-71 setup. I'm trying not to mount my alternator near the top of my hemi if I can help it...

oh yeah, adding the supercharger definately throws the project into a different mode. Lower alternator mount probably the only way to go.

I bought a 69 AMX last spring. Looked at it as an investment. Itsa pretty nice car but it needs some TLC which I’m addressing right now. After the first of the year it will probably go up for sale. Still out there looking for a roller. Getting really hard to find. There’s several cars I’ve looked at that are drivers. All with SBCs. Pretty easy to take one of those and swap out the Chev for the Hemi. That may become the game plan.

Got some wiring issues addressed on the 52. I still need to drill out from 5/16 to 3/8 torque convert bolt hole. I’m running a B&M flex plate so I can’t access the mounting tab however the hole on the flex plate appears just big enough to get a 3/8 tap in there. I just need to drill out the old 5/16 threads so there’s a clean hole to tap the 3/8s. I got a 90 degree drill to access the bolt hole. Other than that life is just peachy.

On finding a rolling project, several leads fell through but I’m still looking. I’ll need to shift gears after the first of the year on getting the new motor in the valiant.

You should post this on the 'what you are working on' thread instead of Mike's build thread!
