Post Office just dropped off my latest Ebay score. One new old stock GM original & 1 aftermarket with new chrome front bumper "bullets."

Cut out, then started fitting the patch on the passenger side lower quarter panel.
Found more rust through on the inner rocker, but leaving that as is because I have a complete replacement floor for it to go in at a later date.

Got the majority of the outside of the patch welded, still have the inside of the wheel lip and have to deal with the bottom where it folds under and joins up to the inner rocker later when the floor is changed, so it is just hanging there for now.

Fixed them for you. Not sure why they got turned if they look to have the correct orientation on your computer before posting.

Looks good though, glad to see more progress on this one.

Added a second skim coat of Duracoat to smooth out the area. Will knock that down when it sets and on to the next issue.

Starting some more detail finishing on the doors, passenger side stripped above & below the weld line, then skim coated with Duraglass, sanded and a few small spots covered. Final sanding for this stage and some primer to cover the area.

Driver side gets the same treatment, but some additional work needed on the lower inside as well.

Primer on the inside but ran out so need more before doing the front. But then both doors will be done and on to the fenders. IMG_3145.JPG IMG_3146.JPG IMG_3147.JPG

Still looking nice, good to see more progress. I also like to see original panels getting repaired, even when they're available new. Too much new sheetmetal gets to be a Ship of Theseus situation.

Great to hear you're helping the family out, awesome score on the 57.

The '73 truck - looks great to me. Scuff it down, acid etch, and shoot it with enamel ( tan, white, or grandpa green ) - good to go for another 10 years.

Thanks, been a little bit due to hunting season interupting and redirecting priorities...

Both the "A" pillars were almost completely gone as was the bed floor, it was surprising they could hold the doors in place.

Skimcoat to even out the area and a little attention to the lower fender repair area as well.

Finished up smoothing the side of the fender. But still have a little work around the headlight opening before moving on to high build and blocking.

Headlight area cleaned up and primed. Back to storage and time to start on the other fender.
