hello I grafted 1956 olds fenders onto my Chevy.
I am not looking for all the parts I need for the headlights.
I got the headlight buckets but they are in pretty bad shape, now I am looking for the parts I need to restore them.
the 55-57 Chevy headlight adjuster springs look very similar. does anyone know if they are the same. I assume they are since its gm
aside from the headlight bulbs and retainer rings are any other parts needed?
how does it all go assembled in the bucket. any pictures would be great. thanks in advance.

  2. You might want add some more detailed photos of the headlamp openings in the fender as well as the headlamp parts you're working with.

I would think almost any GM headlight buckets from the 50’s could easily be made to fit. The opening is basically the same.

The large bucket that attaches to the fender would be quite different than the Chevy, since the fender extends past the headlight on the Olds. But the internal cup that holds the bulb, and the two adjuster screw assemblies, and the spring, might be the same as a Chevy...but since hardly any of us know what both types of them look like inside, it would be a great help to add some pictures of what you have now...

    thanks for the replies everyone.
some of that has been helpful. to give you some for information I got a 1956 olds fender , cut out the top of my Chevy fender and grafted the olds fender onto it. so in a sense I need the factor olds headlights since its going onto a factory olds sheet metal. I attached a couple more pictures.

I’m no help, but want to say that’s a good job on the graft.

hey, there's only so much we can do, if you don't do your part and provide the info we need to help you figure it all out. :)

This is what the chevy parts look like, compare it to your Olds bucket parts, see if they match.
