Does this forum have a search function? I checked the technical subjects list, and it is all by year and make, not type of project. I am looking for posts about adapting a T5 to a stock model A. I have seen articles on HAMB on this topic, but they have been via links from other pages. There is so much good stuff on this forum, I hate to lose out because I can't find it.

It isn't as powerful as some big corporate function, but it does pretty well.

You can also use whatever search site you are comfortable with to search the site.
Here's a basic example showing google.

I find that I can search for something that is within the scope of this site and get results from here.
For example, yesterday there was mention of a Dragmaster T Bucket chassis. I did a search for that and got results from HAMB. I didn't have to use the site:jalopyjournal.com filter.
Some searches show HAMB then ask below if you want all from the site.
Here's what that looks like on Bing.

Simply search in Google, 'hamb model a t5', and stand back in amazement!

You need to be creative when you are searching.

What are you searching for ?

    Hello,

I knew the article on dave mc donald was on the HAMB. I wrote it. But in a quick search parameter, I typed in, obviously, dave mc donald in lower case letters as I normally type. The capitals come later or are set to capitalize on their own for a paragraph. Since it was the main topic, I also checked “Search titles only.”

After all, it is the main topic covered on the old post. Only to get rejected as THE HAMB No results found.

So, now, I know the old information is in the HAMB archives. I capitalize the name Dave Mc Donald and check the “Search titles only.”

Again, even with capital letters and “Search titles only,” the rejection of no results found.

Now, I have used all grammar rules to this point. So, I deleted the search as a titled post.

Aha! Now, the results pop up and show some information.

The post I was looking for (Jnaki) and two useless results that just happen to have the wording, Mc Donald in the post.

There was one last way to go directly to the post one is searching for:

Caps and my user name, but still no title only.

The title only is the most difficult as you have to get the correct spelling or misspelling of the simple title of “hot rods in the futur” in order to find the exact topic and story. There are a lot of misspelling titles on the HAMB, but have plenty of informational posts. So, there is that. You just have to know the exact spelling to hit the topic on that search.

If one knows the exact spelling including how capitals are typed, then it goes under the checked “search titles only” tab. But, that is not a guarantee. Leaving the titles only will give better results, unless you type A simple “Chevy Sedan.” Now, you will get the 7 page long results with the word Chevy in it and has nothing to do with your exact search.
