Comes time for some new tires, & in the past opted for the affordable Cooper Trendsetter 235/75/15" & 215/75/15" as they had a clean sidewall devoid of all the hash trash so common in today's market, but found they are no longer available. Searching online clean sidewall sources the Vercelli brand is available from a variety of vendors; however, the foot notes state tread & sidewall design may differ from file photos, would like to see one firsthand or an actual photo of current production if anyone knows of a dealer. I contacted the Katy Texas hub & have yet to receive a response stating my concerns I'll sit tight until I'm assured it's what I want, nothing worse than ending up with anything less. Ron

GOOGLE is your friend. I just Googled them and got close up pictures, reviews, etc. You can get them thru Walmart. They list a CLASSIC. Good luck in tire search.

Thanks, wheelguy for your response, I initially inquired at Walmart, the Classic 787 is the tire but no guarantees from them or other sources for that matter as of this time at least, but Walmart does offer return credit if not correct, but can be a hassle as they go through Priority Tire vendors & not sure how much entanglement that might involve.

I don't know of any tire dealer that's going to guarantee any tire based on side wall design. They are at the mercy of the tire manufacturer and I really don't blame them.

If I owned a tire shop I'd gladly order whatever tire you wanted but if you refused it due to side wall design I'd expect you to pay return shipping...

Some sites show a Cooper Trendsetter but show busy sidewalls that you or I don't want.

Yeah... The pics are not always correct. I also wanted to not have all the "graffiti" on my tires. I ordered the Vercelli as blackwalls, because that's what the pics showed, and they showed up as pinner whites. So, they are inside out on my truck. Sidewalls are fairly clean. Can't attest to the quality, as I haven't hit the road yet.

My last tires were Michelin Defenders 15”.
The usual lettering on the sidewalls but none of the geometric shaped swirlies that IMO look so out of place. Just sayin’

  10. You can sand the ugly off a tire with a DA.

I will go with Trendsetters again if anyone knows of a source, the downside is they may be out of code date as they have been off the market for a while. & with response to other suggestions, I'm not particularly fond of shaving the side walls, not much room for error on a radial .

Diamondback tires list "blackwall smoothy" as a sidewall color option.

Some tire shops around here won't touch a tire over seven years old.

1pickup here on the Hamb was kind enough to email a photo of the black wall side of a Vercelli tire that unfortunately has a band of hash grooves around the perimeter, but the whitewall side is relativity smooth, since I'm wanting the black wall out, I'll continue my search, looking for a recent photo of the Multimile brand if anyone might have one.

  15. Some tyres only have all the squiggly crap on one side. You can always flip it around. I have never had a car not start and run because the "tyres were mounted backwards!".

Looks as if my options are dwindling down to find an over the counter or online choice & finding it difficult to get the chat line work from home folks to savvy what info I want, they simply throw a multitude of tire specs in the mix & leave it at that. Will post what I find if anything at all should surface.

I just bought 4 smooth side 15 inch BFG's for an upcoming project. Nice guys, right price. Cheaper than Diamond Back. You may be looking for something cheaper?

Thanks Gary didn't want to break the bank & I know the BFG's are out there if all else fails, not certain what 75 series sizes are available however, as a host of manufactures have dropped the 15" tires all together & favor the wider profiles as well.

155/80R15 fronts and 255/70R15 BFG rears with smoothed sidewalls. $1000 to my door. $200 cheaper than DB.

I & several Omaha locals favor Joe at Marion tire he really goes out of the way; my last Cooper 75's came in at $80 & $86 each & he can still accommodate in the $100 range but struggles to find the cleaner side walls any more.

Cooper's are a fine tires but a full fendered deuce roadster needs just the right skins on the right sized wheels to have the look. I have never compromised.

Agree that the rear tires need to properly fill the rear fender radius while the front tires need to complement the degree of drop without being too crazy low, I tend to gravitate towards the skinny 40's look on the highboys, then again theirs always exceptions & personal preference......

Nothing earth shaking to report, the tire sidewall hash trash seems to have taken over the industry on any reasonably priced radial tire choices. Please chime in if you know of any 235 or 215 x75 x15" choices. Ron

  25. Try Milestar Tires, they got a good selection of 15 inch tires. 3/4 whites

Thanks jax59, I have indeed looked at the Milestar web offerings but as with most sites it seems only a few offer 360-degree views showing the back side since I'm opting to turn the whitewall side in, but will do further research & comment back.
