Ok , so it would also give/ provide more of a contact surfaced area for the bearing to ride against,
    I am wondering if my
M-W Modular 10inch is same way, I never have taken apart ,
    It was shipped compleat,
I should went with Full Floater

  5. The tubs are three pieces that are welded together. Alot of time was spent on the english wheel. Beads were rolled in for strength. A lip was rolled into the edge. The tub will be cut 1.5 inches from the edge. It will be welded to the body. The rest will have dzues fasteners holding the main section in place. This way i can have them powder coated for durability. I can remove them to work on the suspension.
The kill switch was relocated. The brake lines are done.
A die needed to be made for the dzues fasteners. Three holes need to be drilled. One hole needs a taper. The die will locate all three. The hard part is over. It should be done soon. Then off to the body shop. 20241115_164617.jpg 20241115_164632.jpg 20241115_164640.jpg 20241115_164659.jpg 20241115_164722.jpg 20241115_164740.jpg 20241115_164756.jpg 20241115_164806.jpg

  6. I sent the mag to FIE for servicing. I wanted my boxes and coils checked out. They passed with flying colors. So I sent the mag in. They found a broken wire and a split shaft at the key way. They said the bearings were crunchy and the rotor should be replaced. It's all back together and in the mail.

  7. It's good to have a smoking gun, instead of more questions! Glad that Spud found something that would explain what was going on.

  8. They said the vibration would cause the intermittent shutting off. You want to find something but nothing expensive. I will have a complete back up for the chaos. Justin are you going?

  9. I will be at Eddyville. Possibly Mo-Kan. I'm not sure on the rest. It depends on the Extreme Top Fuel schedule. I'd like to hit most of Jimmy's races if possible. I would also like to hit Bowling Green and Tulsa.

  13. Some of us are not on FB, and only on here. I know your time is valuable, but please consider keeping this thread active. It’s one of the best here, and I would miss it. Thank you.

The HAMB is the closest I come to a "social media" site and the main reason I keep coming here is to follow your thread. I was a regular on both Inside Top Alcohol and Classic Funny Car boards until they went the FB route. I lost access to the community that feeds my technical/racing appetite, so I hope that you continue posting here!

    Hey, Brain;
I'm not on here as much anymore(life has required a bit too much input lately, but that, well, is life. :) ), checking only a few threads I like, but I do like yours. I know you walked a fine line in posting before, but OT should alleviate the worries/concerns about getting post(s) deleted, so that's good. Still appreciate the time & info you post. One of my favorites. If it matters...
I also am not on "social media". I may get forced into it soon(as a place to sell), but it'll be severely limited, by choice. Also, a good portion of the value I find in the HAMB, & a few other similar sites, is that info & pics(at least now) are saved. Instant gratification might be nice - to a point - but when the info also lasts but an instant - it's borderline worthless & for any practical value - pointless.
I do hope you keep posting here.
    Marcus...

^^^X3? Brian, you have always provided detailed Nitro and other tech as well as some really entertaining stories that I think people here have really enjoyed. It's been a window into a world that many folks never get a chance to see or learn about.

Many of us are not into those other platforms or social media in general so, hopefully you will keep us in the loop here. Nice work on the updates to your car by the way. I have no doubt you will achieve your goals.

Hate to see you go Brian, I quit Facebook a couple months ago, other than Marketplace. Your posts are always very interesting to me.

  27. I still get email notices for this thread. To be honest, this thread was OT from the word go and be happy the Mods turned a blind eye and let it go as they did. It getting moved to OT should not have any effect on the amount of traffic it gets and not sure why he would stop posting. It is what it is.

Yes, the notifications stayed with the thread. I still read it everytime there is a new post. Just don't have anything to add to the conversation. All very interesting, but WAY OUT OF MY LEAGUE!

I too enjoy your posts. I only have FB to use Marketplace and I must be really old cuz I have never been able to understand how Instagram works. I click on something I like and in less than a minute I’m in a different world that I can’t even fathom! Please keep on keeping on here!
