While rearranging some stuff in my shop today I found this.

    kenneth howard 2.jpg

Bob Klessig had these available about 20 years ago. I got this one from Bob at one of the H.A.M.B. Drags.

Not the slightest bit technical or helpful to the forum. It just brought up many fond memories of and with Bob.

Hopefully some of you have mementos from Bob. Sure do miss him.

b-t-w; I met (on another gearhead message board) a fella from Wisconsin not too far from where Bob lived. I asked him if he know Bob. His answer: "yes, I did. I saw him at car shows often and fwiw Bob was my insurance agent."

It's a small world and Bob made it smaller and better.

I've got the HAMB key holder that Bob-K got on a Hamb auction years ago. I got it with a box of other items from his estate auction. IMG_9218.JPG

I tell the same story every time Bob's name comes up but I'll tell it again, I saw him at the Cheaterama show in Milwaukee when it was still at the drive-in, with his custom Corvette parked on the street, right out front. I asked him how he got such a good spot and he said he parked it there at 2am and left it to go back to sleep at his hotel.

200,000+ miles on that convertible with the 6 cylinder, leaving his car on the street in downtown Milwaukee in the middle of the night, the guy didn't just build shit, he used it all the time without fear. That always stuck with me.

Used to see him at the Detroit Autorama, in the basement every year.
He always said: "I got my drinking shoes on."
That is one of my Flying Eyeball pins on his hat.

I forgot about the "What would BobK do?" stickers. I've got at least one of them around here somewhere.

I'm sure that the autographs on his glovebox were all of famous people. If he had all of his friends sign it the car wouldn't have been big enough to hold them all. I (and about half of you reading this) have ridden in that car.

I really liked how he would send each of us a PM on our birthday, wishing us a happy day.
