Cool off topic pics of off topic stuff

I had a 70, looked about the same as the green one (same green paint too), but mine was a bit more rough. I paid $600 for it back in 1979. it was my 1st 70 Road runner and had a 383 Holley 4bbl, column shifted 727 auto, 3:23 Sure Grip, air Grabber scoop, and factory green bench seat. It was the first of three 70 Road Runners I had over about a 5 year time frame. The fool I sold it to lost control and smashed it into a telephone pole while showing off and killed it, two weeks after he bought it. The other two were on the street at the same time, both 4 speed cars, one was my street racer, the other was a parts car turned into a driver, so I had something to drive when the street racer was broke.

 

NDSRA had there end of year meeting yesterday and they have garage tours this year it was at some local businesses no hot rods but some cool stuff though. The cammer powered comet was raced in the 60's and the 69 stang was a factory 428 drag pack car.

Pretty sure this is the car, 1972 Holden Torana XU1 with the formula 5000 Repco V8,

 

The next model Torana was the 1974/75 SLR5000 that could be bought of the Holden showroom floor for regular road use. Subsequently banned by the goverment .

That photo would be Mr Brock, with more refined hair, in front of a VL Commodore Calais Director. These were the cars that he refused to let the factory test, ending a long association with GMH.
