The city i was born and raised is the capitol of hot rodding in the entire Brazil, the first sanctioned drag race was held here in February, 1958 and everything on the car culture here we "borrowed" from you guys there.

Anyway.. it's my first post, here's a few pics of cars that were built in Brazil.

    Hope you guys enjoy!

Not quite like you guys there but we admire the car culture from USA and try to mimic it here.

I am going to move this to the Hokey ass message board, which is for traditionally inspired cars. The trad hot rod forum is for period perfect 65 and older style builds and the trad custom forum is the same just for customs. the off topic forum is for post 65 cars and cars with billet wheels and street rods etc. I am also going to enlarge your pictures. always select "full image" when posting pics

    WOW. Cool rides...and welcome.
I know there were Ford plants in Brazil and Argentina...and it seems many of the 1930's Ford open cars (Roadsters, Phaetons) here in the U.S. came from South America.

That car was a long project about almost 20 years in the making, the owner of it also have a hot rod shop that builds period correct hot rods and customs.

Really? Because i always thought the 30's Fords here came from U.S and not manufactured here, but if i recall correctly Ford started production here in 1924, it's curious to me think about South American cars being imported to U.S since you guys started it all there.

Ford had assembly plants in South America in Brazil and Argentina starting in the early 20th century. 20-25% of the parts were produced in S.America and the rest of the parts were imported from the U.S.
Buenos Aires, Argentina became home to the first assembly plant in 1916
Ford opened its São Paulo, Brazil plant, called the Solon Plant in 1921.
Both assembly plants produced Fords in the 1920s through the 1930's...all the way up to WWII.

Thank you for sharing this, i'd never knew about that.. what about 40s and 50s fords? They seem to be imported from there to here, for example our Brazilian f100 started production here in 1957 as a 1953-55 from you guys, the '56 there is the '59 to '61/'62 here and later the '60 model there here is the '63/'64, and came the galaxie only 4 door sedan here copied from the '65 model there.
Also the engines we only got the Y block (272 and 292 only) and later the 302 (Windsor), maybe the flathead earlier on, but not sure about that.. even the engine blocks came from U.S but internals and parts from here.

  25. I have watched videos of the blown , green 34 coupe. I believe the car is out of the NENE shop. Saw a video of them firing it up on nitro. Very cool hot rod. Welcome to the HAMB.

Of course, i can't guarantee that i can go shop tour, because of my schedule and because i have something called agoraphobia. but i can try my best to share with you guys all of that.
I'll try to find pics on my archives of the first drag race event here in Brazil and other cool stuff that happened/still happening here.

Thank you for understand that. I'm also an introvert (that's why i delayed to be part of this awesome forum), even on Internet i have my tics and i've always came here for bring me some piece of mind, reading threads/articles, getting info on my favorite hot rods/customs, pictures from my collection, etc.
Since you said about me being the brazilian "connection" reminds me when i dreamed to film a documentary in the likes of "Flake and Flames" or other ones just showing how things are done here, maybe i can try that in the future just need the right people and right cars.
