so what i'm thinking, I could have the body off in a couple hours.... at that time I could address the motor height issue... and any thing else....but....it would take a good ass whippen to get me to put the body back on...and probley end up an A ot T body on the 32 frame...or if lucky a 32 body...... thats why I'm dragging my heels here....

thanks for the post... though it was 40 yrs ago... we built we built T-A and 32 frames at my st rod shop....slowly stuff is coming back to me....we had a flame table pattern cutting old school tools....and patterns for all the tabs and mounts,,,,built 32 frames off just the stamped rails..... we would tack weld the rails to the frame table... then put the crossmembers in...all the pieces were in bins...so kinda automated for the 80's

I could be way off here.... but this come to mind... when we pinched the cowl area the front would come way in at the front cross member.... so we would porta power it back open to fit the cross member....what I think they did on this frame was just open it up to the size of the 32 grille...not arguing what others think... just what I think.. all I know about this kinda of business is I got rich when I quit doing it...

well, my mind is set...gonna think about maybe doing something today sort off....gonna put the car on the 4 post and have a good look see.. the positive thing I have going is I made a couple of homemade welders 30 some years ago that can weld anything..... won the reno welding competition with one them so anything that doesn't look right will be fixed... to be cont....

so... inspected it pretty good... seen a weld I don't like... but it's solid.. car seems real good as is... when I drove it i figured the trailer tire would make it do something as they aren't balanced at all....but she drove real smooth...any one in vegas wants to go for a ride... come on over... you won't believe it...

Looks great underneath to me from just pictures. Looks like different headers and reworking exhaust will help ground clearance issues a lot. Might not have to raise the engine/trans maybe? But also looks like if you did need to raise the engine/trans there's some room to go a bit without chopping up the floor.

The engine doesn't look to be excessively low from what I can see but the long headers aren't doing you any favours. Looks to be lots of room to build an exhaust that fits up in the frame.

Rear shocks don't look like they'll be doing much with that inclination. What's happening with the rear radius rods? Is there anything helping control the torque beyond just the rods?

Car looks to be fairly well used / enjoyed, which is a good thing!

as with most all of them it's just the rods and a cross leaf.. the 2 together will handle a decent amount of power, and for sure daily driving stuff.. real surprise to my eyes when i when I wooded the go fast peddle,, lit them trailer tires up... had to peddle it a bit... got in to second and they were squealing again... might have to get into the motor to see what I got...all I got about the motor is it's not a 265 or LS..... it's some where in the middle..

looking... you would expect a bumpy all over the road ride...super smooth, drives straight and stop s straight..... I was very impressed...

here's the deal with the long tube headers... they hang about a 1/4'' lower than the oil pan...gonna have to take a closer look at that when the tire change happens.. for now... I've been all day detailing the underside.. the exhaust is horrible from the headers back... so that'll go for sure...not too happy about the wheels I ordered... wanted crome 5 & 6's but ordered 7 & 8''... I think the car will never be traditional.. but could still be 60' -70's hotrod look....???

the oil pan is the problem....I've got oval tubing at the shop....and could build some new headers..

i'm thinking that the easy fix here is to flip the shock mounts and put the light bracket/ mount in front of the shock... probley move the light forward about 3''??? I'm good the the height, just not so far back

I can cut the shock mount off... move it and metal finish and paint the rails to match... that'l take care of all the chips also..

but like said... gonna get it all detailed first..

i'm liking this look... just don't think I'll be able to pull off the 7'' wheels in front...we'll see... the wheels I ordered should be here any day.. I'm thinking I need to be around 30'' tall in the rear... and 26-27 front... 27 will give the much needed ground clearance ,,, but might look too funky

although 6 to 7'' is only 1 inch, it's enough to make or break a car.... first thing I would do is change the wheels on this one... but they might be 8 & 10's

MOPARs from the 40's use 16" wheels the 5 on 4.5" bolt pattern, so find some old Plymouth or Dodge wheels and you're in bidness. Big series Chryslers and DeSotos have 5 on 5.5, FYI.

Sure looks like the frame is pinched only from the cowl forward to keep the rails even with the hood sides (if it had any). My '29 on '32 rails is pinched to fit the Model A body at the cowl, that's not the case with your car. I'd just put 15" or 16's on it and call it good.
