  3. Working on a PS pump mount

rough cut for now. If it works out we’ll clean it up and add a brace to the 2 holes next to the timing cover IMG_3740.jpeg IMG_3739.jpeg
Bracket was a SWP bbc ps mount (I think) that was in my junk pile.
    Will fab/modify an adjuster brace
Replacing a 350 so the alt is already on the passenger side. So thinking about mounting the alt on the that side of the block

made a simple bracket that mounts to 3 of the 4 bosses on the head. Uses the original alt mount.
Need to fab the upper adjuster bracket. The hoses clear but the upper heater hose will be tight

Anthony, have you seen the factory set up that mounts the ps pump above the alternator?

  5. Yep.
    Hard to find
There’s an aftermarket set up that looks good.
    In the $150 range.
Got less than an hour and $20 in this
This stuff is fun to mess with

Yeah , it's not like mid 70s nova and Camaro 6 cylinder cars are laying around like they used to be...

  7. The 250 stuff would need modified. The 292 block is a good bit taller.
But I’ve only seen one PS set up on a gm 6 in the scrap yard in the past 10 years.

  8. Nice and clean, James! I'm still so thankful for your help during my rebuild of the AOD. It's taken me a while to get it installed along with the 351W, but I'm closing in on hooking up stuff, wiring it up over the winter and then a start up, running in and adjusting the transmission this spring. Keep us posted on your run in.

I put out the word that I was looking for a cab to replace the one on my 48 that just has too many issues to deal with so I can put my truck back together and a local rodder gave me this one. It's real solid but I'll have a number of farm truck dings to deal with and get plenty of dent removal practice. Kind of back to my roots when I first put the 48 together to go to the 73 street rod nationals. cab 3.jpg
