The Goat was/is the Monkey-mobile. And the video shows the convertible top must be somewhat functional. When I was younger that was my dream car. I’d definitely drive it even if they have pulled all the graphics off. I thought they also had a hardtop version that was a 2 door wagon with the blown Poncho.

Actually he did not design nor build the original cars. Dean Jeffries did. Barris bought one of the two cars built and later completed mods of his own on that car and subsequently showed the car. Originally the blower was real. The blower was later swapped for a dummy blower when the actors couldn’t handle the car with that much power.

It may have to do with the fact that I'm not a big kustom guy but mostly because (I've heard) that at shows when someone would ask for his autograph he'd tell them to give one of his "crew" $5.00 first, might not be the case but it just never set well with me.

 

Kind of a shame, when you look at all the work someone put into some of these monstrosities, and they were left out in a field to rot…

 

No matter what he says, @anthony myrick wouldn't drive this.

 

I understand the concept, just not the reason why.
