I totally enjoyed this cool video of one mans treasures and his ability to buy up houses, to keep parts and cars and dam near everything that a gear head could possibly want!
Indeed, this video shows just the tip of the ice berg of parts and cool stuff!
All of it was and is cool.
I call dibbs on the black Caddy 4 door in the basement!

Like mentioned, we only saw the top layer! No telling what’s beneath all that stuff. Are they going auction it off? What’s going on with these parts and cars!

  13. I've seen 2 others that were similar. I don't understand but they sure are interesting. :)

  14. This stuff needs to be priced to sell, I'm talking pennies on the dollar, if they hope to re-home any of it. The complete cars will probably move well and some of the more desirable parts. Nice of him to save what he could from the scrap yards but realistically most of this is going to end up there anyway. The houses are all likely to be condemned as well. These types of collections no longer impress me due to their inevitable conclusions from a lack of foresight of not starting liquidating them sooner. From some of the signage it looks like it's down near Trinidad which is near the New Mexico state line. I might take a ride down if there is any info about it soon.

    Hey @Hitchhiker
Hey Matt, have you seen this video?
Pretty cool stash of stuff, that is very much, of what you are into!
A shame that its so far away from Washington State.
I bet there is a good (B) engine in that stash of various engines, that @ClarkH is looking for.
    Happy New Year from Dennis.

Well, he hoarded stuff until his dying day. It did no one any good until now. I feel sorry for his family.

  20. Nick, I think your on the money with the location. It'd be nice to know when and where the sale is, if it hasnt been already. I'm afraid that it won't all be saved and lots will end up in the crapper. Just rolled thru Trinidad last week, had I'd have just known. Mitch

A lot of what that batch goes for depends on who the auctioneer is and how well they present what is for sale and then how much time the family gives folks to remove the cars. That big primarily trucks auction in Sidney Nebraska a year or so ago brought top dollar because every rig no matter how rough it was was well presented and they gave people a year to remove the trucks and I know a couple of guys who bid a lot higher than they may should have because they could wait until the roads were good again before going after what they bought unlike another auction not that far from me that had poor photos and descriptions on most of the vehicles except what the person taking photos and writing the descriptions thought was the hot lick stuff and only gave about a week to remove it.

I saw that it was Trinidad when I looked at the video too. That's Fisher's Peak (the mesa) in the background. Just came thru there yesterday on the way back from Santa Fe. The address is 820 Tillotson St.....west central Trinidad.

He enjoyed having it until his dying day. I see no harm in that.

He'd probably still be alive if he didn't carry all that stuff into those homes! Unbelievable amount of work.

The guy’s knowledge of just random car parts is really impressive. The houses aren’t as rough as I was expecting either… houses seem to get clapped out pretty quickly under hoarder conditions

  29. At least he saved a lot of stuff. Be thankful that he did. Buy what you can while you can. We have seen a lot of stuff scrapped because no one stepped up to buy it when they could have, or should have.

Ben has been at it since he was a young guy. He has an old car parts yard in S.D. and I've bought stuff from him
