There was a bus system in Northern California in the city of Fairfield. They called it Fairfield Area Rapid Transit.
58 Chevy,Biscayne it was called down here, was just about my fav model. Was it one year only?...I could never work that out.
Oh come on! you reckon to lust after one...they are the Big Healy's yes. 3000. They are easy to pick front on with the wider grill and extra air intake above it. The 100's had a smaller and to my eye, nicer shape to them. Hope this helps.
Interesting. are the real 109's or movie mock ups;reason being the have what look to be Merlin engines in them.
Disneyland off to the right of the photo starting work on the huge corner plot of the park. Katella Ave and Harbor Blvd. Hello, Our dad had some friends that lived in Orange County. It was near the intersection of Harbor Blvd and Katella. Katella Avenue was an extension of Willow Street in our Westside of Long Beach neighborhood. It was the main road heading East towards the growing OC developments. Farm lands were now being sold off to big developer for industrial parks and business buildings. It was surprising to see the developments grow from empty large plots of land. The old streets in Long Beach extended far east in to Orange County. But, the developers also extended the street West past our Westside neighborhood, into the Wilmington oil fields into the Los Angeles South Bay Coastal Areas. Willow Street turned into Sepulveda Blvd, as it passed by the exit of Lion’s Dragstrip. Jnaki So, if one lived in the Los Angeles South Bay Area prior to the freeways, it was a straight shot drive East on Sepulveda, past our Westside area on Willow Street into the Signal Hill area, past the airport area and cross over into Orange County at the San Gabriel River. Now, it was Katella Avenue which led to Disneyland located in Anaheim. But, Katella continued to the far Eastern area and changed one last time to Villa Park Road. Note: Today, it is one heavily used road that parallels the 405 freeway for an off-freeway moving experience. If and when the 405 is thick with traffic, parallel side roads are sometimes as fast as the bumper to bumper freeway. Katella Avenue is one of those off freeway side excursion roads that fulfills the moving portion of So Cal traffic. When traveling near Disneyland and away from that central OC location, it works.
