There’s a “farmers shop” nearby. Pay by the pound. All sizes, threads, etc same per pound price.

I gottta make another run one of these days, kinda like that commercial with me and bolts/washers and nuts. “I put that shit on everything”.

I live in Florida and I've been in that store. It was back in my driving my roadster to the LARS days and staying in Glendora with my ol' buddy Normspeed. Yes, great store.

  8. Is this not a common type of store in other parts of the country? We have a local chain here known as Tacoma Screw which is very similar. Likely kept in business by the fishing industry. I don't know what I would do without them.

I should have mentioned. When I said automotive fasteners. I’m taking about OE spec stuff. Went in for only 2) 3/16” thread cutting pal nuts after I called to see if they carried them. I left with more than just the pal nuts.

  10. Oh that is special! Very cool. Looking at some of the stuff in the background of the store pictures, I could see some automotive and other special interest stuff.

That's definitely a killer spot. It has that "old hardware store packed to the rafters" vibes

Tacoma screw has got me out of a jam many times on work trips to the PNW… They have several locations. They are a very good industrial hardware store, but I’m not sure about automotive stuff.

  12. I was looking at one of the social media sites, and they post pictures of cool customer cars. This was the only hamb friendly one.

  13. We don't have any big nut and bolt housed but the local Ace hardware here carries a huge selection of hardware and a great selection of stainless nut's, bolts & washers, so far I have been able to find everything I need. HRP

  14. Crap that's HUGE. We have a smaller version at McFadden dale.

Covina has all the good stuff......remember Westco ?

Just an FYI for those that don’t know. If you have an Atwood’s farm supply in your town, they sell hardware by the pound. They are color coded. It’s so much cheaper.

When I’m out and about in area’s similar to yours I get upset that the big city Aces are a joke in comparison.

McFadden Dale was great when I lived in Corona. Westco, weren’t they down closer to the coast westerly Orange County? They also held a yearly car event? I’ve been there then.

I was really spoiled for a couple years, we had an Orchard Supply (large) hardware store go in only a mile from me, it was like Disneyland for car guys, had a lot of SS, grade 8 and Allens, specialty washers, etc.
Then just like that, poof, gone, now there is a Tesla store there!

Our local Farm & Fleet store used to be the go to store for a huge variety of nuts and bolts available in may sizes and lengths, and they carried a lot of specialty fasteners as well, all sold by the pound. Because they were cheap and easily available, I used to stock most standard bolts from 1/4" to 1/2" in length from 1/2" long up to 6" long (longer on 3/8" bolts), along with nuts, lock nuts, washers and lock washers in grade 2, 5 & 8.

Unfortunately, now they are down to about a 1/2 isle of stuff, and the choices are very limited. The few specialty fasteners they have are now sold in bubble packs of one or two parts in each pack. The local Menard's has more options, but not in bulk. Good thing I'm not building much anymore, my bolt cabinet is nearly empty, and I don't see a reason to restock it. Now I just buy the bolts I think I'm going to need to get something done.

We have 2 "Bolt" stores in town, one requires you be a business and they will "order" anything special that you need (I can do that myself), and the other requires a $50 minimum purchase, and you buy each bolt individually.

When in SoCal I've always enjoyed scouring Hillco, Garden Grove I think.
