Best one of the bunch from Mark's batch, if you really gotta do it. Simple and not too busy.
Oops, sorry Root, I see that was in your batch initially!

  4. With 59 headlights maybe should then narrow a 59 Chevy bumper for the front vs the stock unit.

I am looking into a set of bumpers from a fellow hamber from a 50 Coronet. Just need to measure them and see if it is even a possibility.

The old interweb says the Dodge is 74.375 inches and the F100 is 75". Pretty close depending on where they measured from.

  7. They might work but I could see an issue as the dodge bumpers wrap around then ends of the car where the stock f1 bumper is straight across. Could easily cut off and reshape if needed

That's just too much going on for my taste. Less is more my kinda vibe.

I’m planning on using a 51/52 F1 grille, without the teeth, in my 54 F100. I widened it. Might run a Moon tank in the center (not really a custom, going for a competition look). One benefit is the headlight buckets are shallower, pulling the headlights back a bit. Less of the bug-eyed look.

I know this truck has a stock grill and isn't HAMB friendly but someone mentioned bumpers and I remember seeing this F-100 with a Chevy truck's front bumper so I thought I'd post this photo ...

My two favorite grille examples for F-100s are Axcell's '55 with the '55 Ford Grille & '55 Olds Headlight Trim, and Ralph Ehorn's '54 with the '55 Chevy Grille and '54 Buick Headlight Bezels. I like how mild & subtle both of these examples are. They don't scream "look at my fancy grille", they blend and look natural and if someone wasn't familiar with F-100's, they'd assume it was a stock front end. r (1).jpg r.jpg Ralph-ehorn-1954-ford2.jpg

The chevy and buick treatment remind me of International pickups. :)

Looking at these pictures shows that there are far more ways to screw up the front of a 56 F100 than to improve it.

I am still torn. I have a cherry 1955 Ford pass car grille. This is the path of least resistance. I love the custom grille treatments, but I could throw the pass car grille in over a Saturday and be done. Lord knows I can't linger on these prjects. They are stacked up like cord wood.

This one of cooler ones, you can run 56 rings and belly burners along the bed

  26. Roothawg, you have mentioned low maintenance daily driver duty. Take the path of least resistance and be done. Whatever is easiest to clean and causes the least amount of problems would be my pick. You have already spent plenty of time thinking about the engine combo, choose the stuff that will make you the happiest without redo and I think you will have your answer. :) Just my stupid opinion. :)

I think........IF you cant the lights go the opposite direction of the "standard custom cant"
(keeps the front from having that 'catfish' look !)

These trucks have a pretty wide grille opening. I’d like to see a ‘56 Plymouth grille in there.
I can get some measurements if I brave the snowy walk to my shop.
