I know its a long shot, but I'm looking for my grandfathers 1936 for 3 window coupe. The car was popular throughout the 50s car show scene. Photos from Kansas city, Enid, and Amarillo. I believe he sold it in Tulsa, OK in late 1958 or early 1959. Key futures would be filled roof, with a Naugahyde "fake" insert and '49 merc gauges. Full race 59AB, '40 side shift trans. I have more photos if needed. Any info would help.

    Thanks, Gabe 720.354.2919

Any chance you know what color it was or if you can take clearer photos of the magazine? I can almost read what it says but not really. Figured there could be identifying clues in the text.

Hmm...I have a buddy that has what I thought was a 35 3 window coupe with a 36 grille, etc. that otherwise matches the description pretty well. Were the rear fenders molded on?

Thanks for reaching out, i don't believe the rear fenders were molded at that time. Do you have any photos you would be willing to share?

I don't have any pictures and the car is torn apart currently. The more I think about it, I'm pretty positive it is a 35 anyway so likely not the one you are looking for.

I can’t say I’ve seen it around, but the details you mentioned might help someone recognize it. Have you tried reaching out to any classic car clubs in those areas?

    Hello,

Wow, cool find. That small photo reminded me of this 36 Ford coupe that an inspiration for an old Friday Art post I did a while back.

The story on Manuel Reyes’ 3 window coupe got me to thinking of various versions of the 35-36 Ford 3 window coupes. The chop looked well done and did not look like someone dropped a piano on top. The proportions looked good.

On the Jalopy Journal , @J.Ukrop did an article on Manuel Reyes’ Coupe.

Hope your search is fruitful and a cool find turns into a modern Cinderella story. YRMV

I’m not from Tulsa, but have friends there in the local car scene. I can see if anyone recognizes anything about that car. Maybe put Tulsa in your title to get people’s attention that the car was from Tulsa.

I checked with an older friend who was heavily involved with Tulsa scene in the 50’s but he does not remember the car or the owner. I don’t remember ever seeing it around the Tulsa area. I will continue to check.
