I assume Germ was banned which is why someone else asked if I was trolling....the mods can check my IP address except I have a VPN so its right now in Texas and I am in Anthem at my house. No VPN to log into in PHX which would sorta defeat the purpose of having a VPN to begin with.....all right stopped the downloads and turned off the VPN so the mods can see where I am......otherwise I might be Germ and I already have Covid so I dont need Germs to go with it.....:D

Well that was usefull infomation, now we know why the radio does not work. And it cant be difficult to fix....the cell phone in your pocket has more computing power than the Apollo rockets that got us to the moon. Just need to figure out which tube it is and you can tell when they are burned out or whatever they have inside an old radio. I only know tube amps for guitars but that radio is not rocket science lol.....could not help it....

Germ's not banned...he is quite the automobilia collector too. He's also done quite the vintage historical walk in Hotrod/Custom...he's a changed man as of late though...in a good way too...

Your a little more polite...But this place is not really for kids at the end of the day

And being new here is a buzz...lots to get out...

Stick a mini usb digital Stereo under the dash and leave the AM for a decoration...they can retrofit them with digital retaining the OEM facade...pssst...don't tell anyone though...they're not traditional...:D

    I didn’t say you were a troll.
    Another member made that comment.
HAMB member Germ many years ago was a bit hyper ( entertaining) and you remind me of him.

    Most of the old-timers remember.

I try to be polite as words can be misinterpreted without seeing someone. But I am also a former preist but was kicked out because of too many visits to the nunary. Purely spritual mind you but intentions can be misinterpreted and my Sainthood was revoked.....something about Robert the Impure.....I dont remember it was a long time ago.....:(

Great info, but I will leave the original as is and find another to replace it with and use that.

Check out Germs Threads some day...he has hung around with some pretty big movers and shakers and he gets his hands on some pretty obscure and historic items.

I was thinking this was going to go nose high with Cheater slicks but alas your going mild Hop-Up which is admirable...good on you. I'm sure it will bring you to a place that only one could experience if they were in such a Time Capsule...

I do not recall alleging you accused me of being a troll just that someone was pondering if I perhaps was a troll. But thank you for clafifying as I would rather not be on the naughtly list even though Xmas is a ways away and I have pull with Santa.

Yes I am hyper, happens when you dont have to worry about being shanked anymore. Or shot for legal dope money making $20 an hour unarmed when the bad guys realize your unmarked van is what it is...

Helps with your outlook on life. And now the wife does not want to divorce me. Topo would not have caused it but she was almost crying yesterday over the 55 in a good way. And now I am the good husband that listened to his wife. As well as some of the more seasoned vets of hot rodding. So wife sees potential in keeping me around for a while. Its both our 3rd marriages.....sorry I think this is vering off topic but seeing as you are the Super Mod I assume you will not delete the convo or ban us.....o_O

Will do, obscure and historic is always interesting, found some dude on one of the other forums with a 324, supercharged from a boat w 500 hours on it. But its a 10 yr old thread so who knows if he still has it sitting around and also $10 is more than I was thinking on engine mods....

He was working for Barris way back or had association with and has gathered paperwork on things like the James Dean incident aftermath after the demise of the Barris enterprise...I may be off on the story but it and more are a search away...

If it was a clapped out turd bucket then sure, but I also dont destroy survivors. I dont know what the paint looked like but if it was even semi decent I would not have sprayed it. William said it looked like the original lacquer was under it. Judging by the prepwork it might be salvageable underneath but at this point its preserved. What is strange is they did not bondo a tiny ding in the front fender that looks like it was a door ding, and a small spot of rust just below the bottom of the drivers side door. They got rid of the rust as you can see the little pits. But did not bondo that either. Almost like it was intentionally left that way. I dont know how any legit painter that would not spend the 5 min to put a little filler in it. Or it is exactly as William says just a quick n dirty and you dont pay for that like at Earl Scheib and you are not getting it done....

Glad you listened to your wife. :D Cars like that Buick can make lots of good memories for road trips, etc. My four kids grew up going on road trips in my Ford and all talk about those adventures. Just enjoy the ride. That’s what these old cars are for.

Like the Barris found in TJ just sitting there forever for like $900? I think it was the purple one....maybe with the bubble top. I cant remember my hot rod and car craft mags go back to the 90's...but this was a much more recent find....

Yes I've shared images of that in primer, perhaps when it was being built.

These are more recent Threads by Germ...if you go way back you will see where things were a little different...

His collection is mainly historic Imagery and paper items...

  18. Advice for anyone who buys a car …
Spend some time with it and let it tell you what it needs rather than what you want …
That advice was shared with me many years ago by someone I transported for that had owned a lot of vehicles over many years.
Every vehicle he bought had nothing done to it until he spent time with it alone in the garage.

My daughter is 15, she was not happy I got rid of the SRT8 as I told her she got it when I croaked. But she likes the 55 so my wife and daughter like me again. We hit the local shows that Nancy runs...

    http://www.nancyperryproductions.com/

Wife and her are great friends, Mimi likes to go with us and has pinup dresses. Jen has Nancy tattoed on her leg from when Nancy was a Playboy waitress in Chicago in the late 60's. Hugh gave all the girls the 1st hand held hair dryers when they 1st came out and she never has a bad thing to say about that man.

Do pics of cute ladies violate the chastity of the members? Most of them have classic cars in them so I think they would not violate the rules, pics from Viva, the Lake Havasu rockabilly, and the local rockabilly out at lake pleasant. Photos are by me or my wife, blacksheepfotography except Viva where Jens girlfriend was doing the shooting. Sammy is in the back of some old hurse and Amanda is in front of a hurse gasser at the Lake Havasu rockabilly reunion. So I think we have the car part covered. The cars are the main focus.
    This is drifting off topic.

I’m going to close this one for now.

Please start a new post on your new Buick and share your progress.

    Congratulations on your new Buick.

    Thanks,
