  2. Some parts I forgot I had access to. I'll hit him up next time I'm down there. Like five miles from where the cab is lol Messenger_creation_1933624616818882.jpeg Messenger_creation_218573093265395.jpeg Messenger_creation_304204521412480.jpeg

Watch you’ll lay them together and the paint and rust marks will match lol

  5. Naw surprisingly the intended cab actually has decent looking paint from 15-20 feet away. And is bleach white

That sheet metal looks pretty dadgum (tip-o-the-hat to 3wLarry) nice.

Pope, too bad you never had a chance to meet Larry; he died about 6-7 years before you joined up here. Sorry for the sidetrack.

Now back to your regularly scheduled program.

  7. Oh I'm sure we'd have gotten along. So far I've met 5 or 6 hambers in person and we got on like a hay shed on fire. As for the sheet metal it's in Arkansas. Arkansas didn't start salting roads till about 4-5 years ago. And these parts have been sitting at least 40 years lol. Basically a buddy bought some abandoned property with a crap load of cars and parts on it. Had been abandoned so long there was no trace whatsoever of the driveway despite a large dilapidated house and several out buildings on the property.

I somehow picture a truck, trailer, ATV, chainsaw, some sort of skid, and a whole day's worth of treasure hunting in @The Creature 's and @The Chevy Pope 's future!:D:D One stop shopping!

    Y’all are behind the 8ball.
Y’all don’t have enough time. Things go quick in these years.

I really think you need to find a good driver.
    ^^^
With that said, I’m digging it.

I have a 1951 3100 chassis, cab with no doors behind my dad’s barn. It is a complete chassis with hood, inner fenders, 1955 235 engine, transmission and wheels and hubs. It’s a ‘51 with Bendix brakes.
It’s yours if you want it. It’s been there since 1989.
It was my 15 year old project.
Let me know, I’ll have to check with my Dad.

  11. Id be interested if I knew how I'd get it to central Missouri lol. I do appreciate the offer though

I figure we'll have the current plan at least test fired by September

  12. Funny part about the cab and random parts. I used to work a the shop in the junkyard where the cab is. Guy that has the hood, grill and running boards is one of the two first people to jokingly call me the Chevy Pope. The other was his brother I'm also friends with lol

Probably your most extensive parts source.
Do some shopping together with your young'n.
She will remember for the rest of her life.

  14. Conveniently enough there's a brick and mortar LMC store less than an hour from me. So I can order panels without the crazy shipping lol

Are you sure you're going to be able to keep her interested in cars? Seems to be a typical teenage girl, all she thinks about is the boys or should I say He He He He He He He

  17. Oh sure on the surface she seems typical. But in her mom's family greasmonkey prissy chicks are kinda the norm. Her mom's grandpas sister was a wrench flipper. And her mom herself worked on cars all the time till we got together.....in fact my wife changed the lower radiator hose in her car in the rain at taco bell while 8 months pregnant with @The Creature. And she's too in love with the finished concepts ideas I've shown her to lose interest. And she's been around since I drug my 53 out of a field and began washing out mouse piss and sanding off rust so she has a general idea of the process. Though luckily this pickup will be a much easier project than my 53

  18. And like I said before she's been instructed to mainly lurk for awhile. Preferably till we have major parts and she gets some hands on. Mainly wanting her to watch and learn here while picking up an eye for style

Somehow as an AD truck (and others) owner in Arkansas- I need to know where this is. :p A man can never have too many parts stashes. :)
And in regard to sanding the roads- I offer the recent snowstorm in which I put my wife's Caddy into a ditch as evidence that they still DON'T salt the roads. Lol

  20. What part of Arkansas? I'm back in my home town near KCMO now but I spent a lot of time near Batesville. My 53 bel air actually spent most of its life in Conway

About 15 miles west of Conway. Morrilton Area....Where the Petit Jean Swap Meet is a holy week every June.

  22. I think my sister's (and now nephews) school played against morrilton quite a bit in basketball. She went to Fox School. If you saw their uniforms they'd stand out as their mascot is the "rebels " lol

You have LMC Classic Parts and Jim Carter within 100 or so miles of the house.
If you need some nit picking little original piece pm me and I can see if I have one worth using that I can contribute to the project. Anything that I am not using on my truck build or is not designated for a project is going away once I get things sorted out but I have three sheds full of parts.

  25. I know one area I'm going to try to be OCD on is the dash area. Basically if it was available as a chrome part for the dash I'd like to use a chrome version. And a dead factory radio to fill the dash. Cab were likely getting is a factory radio delete. I think part of what she likes about my 53 is the contrast and shine of the dash. Iirc on the cab we're looking at EVERYTHING is white lol

  26. And id not heard of Jim Carter. After googling yeah that's about 40 minutes away. Looks like a place I need to check out lol

Someone needs to make a mouse piss scented air freshener for our old vehicles. I swear it’s the most common scent!

  28. Took me forever to get it out of my car lol
