Same fittings and line at the show. Personally I like the contrast. Everything polished just becomes one big indistinguishable blob IMO.
No worries, I just didn’t know exactly what the rules are so I didn’t want to screw things up for them.
I like the '32 Roadster Pickup, it is a REAL ONE, notice the dash & doors are unique not Roadster stuff modified. Looking forward to photos of the rest of the contenders.
I'm not feeling it. Nothing particularly wrong with it, just the lines don't grab me. 36's are about my favorite year, but something is off with this one. JMO. None of them are really that great this year, so far I suppose I prefer the blue 32 with the wire wheels. I'll be there tomorrow to see them in person, maybe my thoughts on this will change.
Whether it's your cup of tea or not, fabulous work. To be at that level is a tremendous accomplishment. Kudos to all of the participants.
Ok, This is my pick as the winner in 2025 But the one I'd like to have in my garage is this one, based on overall look NOT the amount of money poured into either.
Thank you to all who have posted and will post coverage of the event. I’m sure I could spend hours looking over the details on the ‘36, in my initial glance at the engine compartment my attention was drawn to the steering. Is it hydraulic or electric power assisted?
The windshield/ top proportions toss both 36 phaetons out for me. The proportions of the hand built 36 roadster look much better on the finished car than I was feeling during the build pics I followed. It is a work of art, but I am partial to the 32 rpu. It was neat seeing a young lady working on it in the body shop and pour so much attention to detail on it, congrats to her and the rest of the team that made it happen.
That no fender 36 and I never in the time since I started considering myself a car guy rather than a little who liked cars cared for 36 Fords without fenders is just flat sexy.
Rad Rides "36" has no rake, the tires look the same size all around, top is goofy looking, wheels are ugly, looks like a modified British Morgan... all it needs is right hand drive, mandatory cycle fenders and a British license plate.
Modern rodding has several pics of each car on their Instagram page along with details of owners/builders. https://www.instagram.com/modernrodding?igsh=MXdyNjlqdWEzc3NiNQ==
