A month ago I was randomly looking at pictures of this truck online and wondering what happened to it. Two weeks ago I'm hanging out with a buddy and he says "you drive a chopped 56 F100 and like effies, do you remember The Coca-Cola Cowboy?" He pulls out a magazine with it and says that he knew where it was. It has been "missing" for almost 20 years! A week later I own it, the squarebody ramptruck it was being stored in, the 89 GMC next to it and an 85 Honda It was one of those "all or none" kinda deals that I couldn't pass up. The ramptruck will be used to haul my Dragmaster project and the 53 will be my wifes cruiser and a friend to my chopped 56 big window!
Pinups and horseshoe pinstripes are going away. Going to make it more of a traditional style custom than a rock-a-silly early 2000's custom. 90% will stay the same
Originally built around 2001 in Vancouver, Washington (feels kinda weird to think that was 20 years ago). It made the local (Seattle) and other West coast shows along with a few magazines up until 2007 when it disappeared.
There were so many K's and Z's. I was at Viva Las Vegas for some reason and saw some guys wearing club jackets that said "something or other social club". I asked what kind of club they were, after they told me my response was "so you are a car club that doesn't have any cars? That is fing stupid." Granted, I may have had a drink or three in me but that just about sums up the early 2000's "kulture".
I had the image in my head and it took playing around with a few different tire sizes before I was happy. The QA1 coilovers in the front help alot as well.
I like it! What is the tie bar used above the Chevy teeth? That's a neat touch, I really like that. As for the pinups and giant shifter and whatnot, I probably would also swap them out, but they look like they'd make for great garage art. I wouldn't throw that stuff away or sell it, it's part of the truck's history, whether you're going to use it in the truck or not.
