No … it wasn’t “For Sale” … it was a “Top Five” award winner last weekend at the 2025 Barrett-Jackson CUP show in Scottsdale: Now Mekenzie gets to drive her “GMP Special”: … starting this week during the GNRS.
Ha! I liked that car when it debuted last year, and I still like it now. That steering wheel controversy was ridiculous. I believe you feel the same way as me in this topic.
Cody Walls lives less than 5 miles from our house in Delaware. I saw the channeled 32 and the 12 port setup when it was in the early stages. A nicer, more friendly, extremely talented man as you will ever meet!! Way to go Cody!!
That's the point I was making. You can't tell the actual colour or make out the details from a couple photos but are saying it doesn't look like AMBR material. Okay. As good as mobile digital photography has become, nothing beats seeing the car with your own 2 eyes. Regardless of whether it's monochromatic or dropping in chrome, basically all cars of this level lose a significant amount of wow factor in photos. It is a really cool car, I've only seen those two photos of it but it looks very detailed.
Opinions being what they are, here's the "hot wheels" car that you dislike and the 1961 AMBR winner (restored) for comparison. I see similarities. Both displayed at the show this weekend.
The Ross Meyers 36 is the winner. https://www.hotrod.com/events/ameri...er-ross-meyers-1936-ford-fenderless-roadster/
yep, the overhang is the most notable on the 32. 33/34 Pickups didnt look as bad as there is more space between back of cab to the rear wheels since they are longer wheelbase
COME TO THE PARTY, I AM 80 YEARS OLD, AND I KNEW THAT !!! FORD GOT THAT PART CORRECTED FOR '33-'34 PICKUPS, and MORE DETAILS, ALSO.. like leg room ..!!!
https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/cody-walls-builds-32-ford-3-window-coupe-“the-ardun-killer-“.1161976/ ...and a build Thread here...Cody took a bit of a break after getting it bare metal and shook it down but then he took next level to higher ground...he is one to watch. We sure have a pretty personal window into some pretty incredible Fabricator/Artisans here...congratulations to the Hambers that did their best in displaying and competing in this prestigious historic Show.
Went to the GNRS Friday and it's complete sensory overload. We started in building 6 with the AMBR contenders to try and get a good handle on the key cars. It's still hard to focus in on the millions of details. The 3 orange 32s was a weird circumstance, the long bed on the RPU stood out and the Troy Trep build level is just mind boggling. A year or two I was in a shop with a RRBT LSR 34 roadster that was an AMBR competitor in the teens. I got to inspect it slowly and up very close. Just hard to describe the fit and finish of every little thing. There was a link bar on the suspension and the hardware and machined spacer under the head of the bolt was sublime. I spend hundreds of hours in the last year getting a '60s car assembled and on the road. Nothing helps you appreciate the stratospheric build levels of not only the contenders, but hundreds of top notch cars on display. Past winners hall was incredible. A friend is friends with Jake so seeing the NieKamp roadster in person was tip top. As well as seeing the Hirohata Merc. HotRod icons. Right there. We finished up at the Suede Palace. @Blues4U saw yer PU outside the palace. In between we chatted up some very approachable builders. Drove 500 miles and walked another ten in one day. Hadn't been in a couple years, always a great day. Cracked up at a window sticker on a past AMBR contender, very official looking AMBRN'T decal. Hilarious. Took the new tradition of a paint selfie - this time in the past AMBR winner hall.
Amen, brother. A lot of us are just amateur spectators in the bleachers, with an opinion and a keyboard.
A lot of nice cars, but for me it's the RPU all day. They pulled off traditional, different and tasteful. It's hard to get all three.
God I love this - not what he said (although that’s ok too) - but the fact that he joined in 2006 and he has less than 270 posts all time. Posting about 14 times a year for 18+ years. Periodically I’ll see a HAMB name I haven’t seen before and I wonder how long they’ve been here. Just love that there are long term members out there who just pretty much keep it to themselves. Howdy partner! Ok back to GNRS programming.
The Old car game has all kinds in it just like all the different brands and styles. Some are here for their entertainment, some to try to help others. Some just Pimp Parts. A lot actually Work on their projects and don't sit in front of the Keyboard waiting to make pointless comments. I think there's room for all.
