    Russ Aves.
    He owned that car for almost 70 years. I think he passed in 2019.

    That’s one hell of a lathe. The GE Steam Generation Tubine shop in Schenectady NY had a few long ones like that when I toured the plant in the late 80’s all wood floor. 8 x 8’s on end.

    That's a far cry from the photo of a shop a few posts back with line shafts and flat belts.

    My 2 older brothers had a large Erector set that was passed on to me.
    It was one of my favorite "toys". I incorporated it in with my electric trains.
    Legos are cool but the erector set with a motor and all the screws with nuts allowed the imagination to go wild.

    Dad had wide whites on everything. I spent a lot of time as a kid scrubbing those white walls before every road trip with an SOS pad.
