Just found a copy of this pic on a Calendar put out by the Victorian Division of the Aussie Street Rod Federation in 2001 featuring lots of Victorian rods from the 50's to the 90's.
Middle car is Bob Plowman's 32 Roadster pick-up and the Improved A sport coupe belonged to Phil Williams. Phil was a regular competitor at the Fishermans Bend drags in the early 60's.

How cool is this! Nice chop on a 40, (or is it a 39?) a very hard car to chop and make it look good.

 

These guys could,nt get a girl with their smashed up faces so they got a racecar.

Well, I finally got all three of these in the post. Maybe someone can put them in better order -- I sure as hell tried!

I wonder how many trips they would have had to make to evacuate Los Angeles and nearby other cities.

 

The back window is, Ef'ed up too.

You must be joking . This is what i see. Bet they had it rough at school . Now the photos posted just after the original post do have real faces and readable backgrounds . Specially the ladies and the Ford. Even the old guy behind the Ford with sunglasses and a fag in his hand is clear, looks like a Marlboro or Camel

 

These are pictures of my Dads 40 Chevy that I posted above. The pictures are of a rented garage in an alley in Cumberland MD in about 1967 or so. The street we lived on was Race Street. I always thought it was cool that I lived on Race Street. Lots of memories of me standing between the front seats as my Dad Peeled out and grabbed the next gear. Lots of street racing went on back then. My Dad is standing, the kid holding up the motor is now 72 years old, and he is the current caretaker of the 40 Chevy. My Dad passed in 2017. I think the other kid is my old friend Jimmy Rowan. I'm still in contact with both of those guys. Not sure why I'm not in the picture, maybe I took it. I would have been 8 years old. My friend has the car now because of me.
