Swedish magazin Wheels did a little reportage of me on the bike and my friend Lasse`s fiberglass Cobra.
    Think it was in 1987.

Local car back in the day. Still exists in the hands of a serious Shelby guy.

Not a Cobra but it’s arch enemy the mongoose. (Mangusta in Italian)

Look real close in the passenger seat area there is a white bird, this is a very very rare “Bird Cage Mangusta”!

im sure the big block version is brutal for acceleration but i would love to give a small block variant a run down a twisty backroad. bet that would produce perma grin.:D

Tuned up a reproduction Cobra with a Ford Motors crate 460 with a 5-speed transmission 15-20 years ago,
I remember having to take off my size 13 shoes to enable the use these 3 tiny pedals only one at a time , the huge transmission tunnel requiring the little pedals positioned left of the bucket seat causing the uncomfortable position of my legs being cocked left. o_O
This was forgotten when depressing the gas pedal but would make it tough to road trip this car.

My thoughts after driving are that if ever building one, would be better to build a big inch small block version with a smaller transmission tunnel to be more comfortable, also losing a clutch pedal with an automatic would enable keeping shoes on and drive it smoother and faster while making it easier to keep going straight :D

If you are ever close to Boulder, Co. go to the Shelby museum. Only open a few days a week, stuffed FULL of Cobras including a coupe.

Shelby has a Manufactauring plant in Las Vegas where they make the Shelby Mustangs and a display area with several of the original cobra's.

Two drawings I did about 30 years ago, neither of which I can put my hand to right now: one was for a local drag racer who was putting together a funny car and using a Cobra kit body, much modified, with an integral hard top. It followed the mid-'90s pattern: wheelbase stretch, faired front fender openings, extended sills, huge rear spoiler, etc.

The other was a response to the later "Barchetta" specials, done as a hot rod on shortened Deuce rails and early Ford suspension, big & little Halibrands, with the front fenders cut away under the headlights and behind the front wheels like on some early Ferraris and Maseratis.

So did Carroll Shelby. The automatic was standard in the Super Snake.
