That's a nice example of a '60s hot rod. The car may not have "a history", insofar as some of the parts of the car looked like they were built way back when, and other parts of the car look like they were added as the decades passed, perhaps by subsequent owners. Perhaps it was never put on the road, or when it did get running it was sold shortly thereafter because of other issues commonly associated with backyard builds of the era?
That’s pretty cool! Might look for one with smooth seats in the old photos. With that set up and tiny seat I’m pretty sure all that tufting is clench induced lol
I'd buy that for $200 (nod to @trevorsworth )! I also see many things that are later add-ons, but the overall tone is fully HAMB era. Really hope to see a careful awakening, not a complete redo.
I'm with ya there. I'd do a simple black bench or (track use only?) a single small bucket with a cage.
Oh no. Irwin is about 45 minutes from here... FB? Edit* I did find it. $8k w/no title, so i'm out. Here's a link! https://m.facebook.com/marketplace/item/498999199878444/?ref=search
The JE(?) Automotive decal in the windshield might be a clue? It would be worth giving them a call if the place still exists?
When that coupe popped up on facebook I messaged the guy as fast as I could type and told him I would take it!!! and he said he had just made a deal on it. I told him if the buyer happened to flake just call me and I would send a deposit and be heading East immediately! When he got back to me and said the deal was done I ask him to pass my number on to the new buyer as I still wanted it. To which he said he did but the new buyer was going to keep it. Pardon my language but That Fucking Car is so Cool!! And it was a steal at that price, It has 5K worth of wheels on it. I would still be interested in it if the new buyer is tired of it.
Here's the pics I saved from the original Listing. Just a Awesome Example of a 60's Hot rod. It was not originally a East Coast hot rod. As check out the windshield sticker. J E Automotive is in Springfield MO
