Seam sealer? In a race roadster pickup? Is it required for some fuel isolation rule?

Cool thank you for the reply and photo. I’ve considered a flange on the inside or butting them with a small gap and covering the two edges with a split rubber fuel hose that would be tight and fill the gap when it’s all together. Flange seems the better options though.

    Thanks again!

I've already done that trick myself!.
Never thought of using the tool post to hold the emery cloth.

    Thanx, for the tip Marty.

It won't always be a racer, and yes with Fuel Injection you are dealing with some pretty good pressure and volume, and it need a good seal. Besides, I am going to make and insulator pad for the interior side of the firewall.

I had installed a Lexan windshield that was cut flat across the top, similar to Jim Stevens B/SR. Last week, I had another one cut that has a 1" rise in the middle. Much better ! IMG_1306.jpg IMG_1305.jpg IMG_1302.jpg

Do you need a tried and true dashboard?

I don't need a dashboard, but I would like the pump, that's missing on the left side, and the timing tag on the right !

Its never too early to start training it to do wheelies. Eight inches up looks about perfect.

Over the weekend, I made some strides on the '29. I had a new Lexan windshield cut with 1" of rise in the middle, versus the flat one I had before, and made some aluminum moldings to finish it off. I also laid out and bent up a 1-1/4" tube for the fuel tank guard, that is required by NHRA. More progress. That 1-inch in the center of the windshield makes all the difference in the world!

I spent the day picking up my new toy, a Pullmax P-13. This is going to be handy with difficult part making, and sheet metal forming. Two of my buddies, Lonnie Gilbertson and Dean Zinter, hauled it for me. I have a project waiting for it !

Look into making dies from Delrin. It saves a bunch of time if you need a custom profile. I cut mine out with a vintage Walker Turner scroll saw.

A couple things accomplished, I got the M&H Frontrunners mounted on the Aussie front wheels, and got the wheelie bars mounted. Getting close to disassembly for finish welding and paint. IMG_1330.jpg IMG_1331.jpg IMG_1329.jpg IMG_1324.jpg IMG_1325.jpg IMG_1326.jpg

Were missing a lot of things at this point, I am relying on the chute bracket to hold it together !
