    Hello,

This bag or two were always in our Flathead sedan delivery for our road trips far north and deep into the Baja, Mexico peninsula. Why, well they were the tastiest chip around and easy to buy anywhere, as well as fitting between the seats for an easy grab while driving. The solid consistency lasted for a long time and with the splash of a Coke drink, there was nothing better for our driving to those surf spots.

It was the same for the late night snack when cruising in the 58 Impala down to San Diego/LaJolla area or north to Los Angeles/Hollywood. The simple cardboard low, flat box that a lot of stores gave out when one bought several items were perfect for sitting on a bench seat. With the coke in hand, driving, it was an easy reach with the right hand to get a handful of the chips. Now, driving down the darkened PCH highway through Laguna Beach was not so stressful. Satisfaction at its best.

Then later on after we were into our other family lifestyle, our family dentist told us about teeth cleaning and foods bad for teeth. We were talking about an experiment we saw in college as a pure brown coke liquid mixture that makes up the fountain style of drink was the worst offender for teeth decay. It was awful and most of the kids did not drink Coke for weeks. Our smart logic turned to colorless 7 up for our drinks. Ha!

But, our dentist chuckled at that experiment, as he too saw a similar experiment in his cl***es. He then told us that as bad as it looked decaying the solid enamel tooth with the thick gooey coke syrup, it was bad, but not the worst. What??? What could be worse than dark Coca Cola?

    Yup, right… Fritos. What the…???

The amount of Fritos folks put in their mouths to chew is tasty as ever. But, the more one chews it, the more teeth it gets stuck in between and stays there to start the damage. No one carries a toothbrush after eating everything, while driving a car or even out at lunch with friends. So, the rest of the day, until the next mouthful of food, usually dinner, the damage is being multiplied as time moves forward. Yikes!

So, from that point on, Fritos are a memory of days long gone…YRMV
