Hey Dragnut I have seen that car in books on customs and in a couple of magazines and love it! Is the top chopped 5 inches all around it seems that it is from the photos I have seen. I have posted this before but here is my stepdads old 46.
Heres my 41...still lots of work left, but a good driver. Stock drivetrain w/59AB and a fresh lowering job in the front.
This is my old 46 sedan delivery in 1965. I was 23 and the car was 19 years old. that would be like owning a 1989 ford wagon today. some how I thought it was cool back then. I guess I live in the past to much. because I still own a 48 ford with an old 56 chrysler Hemi
HERES MY BUDDY BUNKY 46 FORD COUPE HE BUILT IT 1988 OUT OF A RUST BUCKET THAT MOST WOULD USE FOR A PARTS CAR
A lot of dead/broken photo links. Too bad. '46-'48 cars are really high on my list. My Father had a nice survivor '47 super deluxe convertible when I was in my late teens/early 20's and I drove that car a lot. It's the reason I love Flatheads. I miss that car. I was really bummed when he sold it. I hope to have one of my own someday.
I can't help with owner info, but I'm pretty sure this car was at one of the last HAMB drags. If it's the same car, it was a strong runner.
Just saved that last picture off the web somewhere, because I liked it too. I doubt you can get that look without airbags, so the chances for a flatty are pretty slim. The chop, chrome strip and relatively untouched front sheet metal were calling to me. Someone made this into a pretty nice sled. Camera angle helps too.
