  1. Since I know a lot of you like the Harbor Freight purple spray gun (Item number is 62300), heads up that it is going on sale for $9.92 as part of their parking lot sale Mar 7-Mar 9. If you are inside track club you can get the price early starting Mar 3-Mar 6. I personally use the purple gun with good results. So if you have used up your stock, or missed out on the last sale with the purple gun for around $10, here is your chance to get more.

Another popular HF item used by HAMBers is the 18x12 inch, 1000 lb dolly; which is on sale for $7.96 during the same Mar 7-9 parking lot sale.

  2. Thanks for the heads up!

Those Dollies definitely come in handy!

I bought a "Purple" gun a few years back just to see how it worked....I threw it in the garbage after about an hour of screwing with it. Now I may have gotten a bad one or the fact that I have several high end guns & am used to their patterns & adjustments, not sure but I could not get a pattern with it that I was happy with. If anybody wants a little bit better gun, watch for the "Black Widow" to go on sale at around $129.00 it is not a bad choice & definitely cheaper that the $350-$500.00 guns.

    God Bless

Probably cheaper than the can of gun cleaner needed to reuse it!

There is a guy on FB that buys them by the case when they are on sale and never cleans one. He uses it for one paint job or for the color he is spraying a bunch of pieces that day and tosses it.

  6. Honestly ...If they actually worked & sprayed a pattern I liked, I would do the same thing! For $9.99 I would use more in thinner to clean one of my good guns. Spray & throw it away, fine with me, but unfortunately the one I tried was NOT something I could do a quality paint job with!

Yeah....I use 'em. Truly it cost more in lacquer thinner to clean one than it does to buy a new gun. I normally buy 2 at a time and will use each gun once (maybe twice). They're great for primer and jamb work. I did shoot 2 stage with one when I painted my work truck. Came out fine.

  8. I bought 2 back in 2015. I took both apart, amazing how dirty they were inside. The o-ring for the paint cup was cheesy. Ace had new ones.

Put them back together and tried one... I was happy with it. Cleaned it and used it a few more times. The second one I haven't used it yet.

We have seen a number of threads on their products and the gun in particular.
I used one for priming the T, and was happy with the gun, less so with my talent or lack of it!
If you are going to grab one or more, take a look at what else they have so you don't wander blindly thru the isles.

I was going to pick up a couple of these the last time they were on sale. Went to the store and they had the upgraded (P/N 62381) one on an unadvertised BOGO (2 for $30). From what I researched prior to going to the store, the "upgrade" is actually significant. Brass cap instead of chineseium, and the regulator is included.

I have a purple gun I've used a few times and have been very happy with it, got a couple on sale a while back for 9 bucks each but they're waiting their turn until the first one fails.
