I first thought this was going to be an off topic post, about the woes of the current lumber industry. :D

Depends on what you are using. My desk top Apple always logs in automatically. On the other hand, I need to log in every time I use my iPad Pro or iPhone.

Storing login information has to do with "cookies". It's possible to configure a browser so that it deletes all cookies every time you close the browser. If this is how it's configured then you will have to log in every time.

There are other possible problems, but we have no way of knowing what the problem is for you, without a lot more information about what you use to view the forum, and how you have it configured.

It's also possible that the cookies have got corrupted somehow, and you need to "clear" them to get it to start working again. You can look into doing that first, it's not too difficult.

  8. Have you recently changed anything in your browser settings that might have caused this behavior? Umm . . . Like Jim suggested just a couple minutes before me.

Maybe try using a different browser to see if that fixes the problem. I've been using the Brave browser more recently as it seems to load photos faster than Firefox does. Don't know what's causing Firefox to bog down on pictures. Maybe a bad accelerator pump ? ? ? o_O

I use firefox and it's set to delete all cookies after closing the browser.
I've also noticed that the time from logging in to it timing out is shorter. I'd guess it's to thin out users who are logged in but inactive. You can check the box next to your password to stay logged in, or just keep responding. :)

  11. Have to correct the Auto Correct, and change Logging in title to Login.
Not to do with your question, that's probably settings related on your device.

  12. I don't know much about cyber computers.......
but the first thing I'd check is if it needs a new flint.

  14. Robert, when you check the BLUE box, check the small square box beside it and has ~ stay logged in.

Checking that box will keep you logged in. HRP

“WHY LOG IN HAS CHANGED”…a new title

    Hello,

If you use Google for logging in about 100 times to the HAMB log in page, it allows your computer to have your log in name already selected on your mouse pointer. So, all that is needed is a point and click to paste your name. Then type in your password and you are in. In the meantime, the computer checks out your account and posts up an ad that you might like, until you put in your password.

Sometimes, it is fine as the password is something you like to type and that is why you chose it. It is not a 25 character typing with oddball symbols. Just a plain simple log in word.

Once I had a permanent log in, but when I changed to a new laptop, I had to sign in again to all of my sites and HAMB was one I left off. Now, I like signing in each time I want to read something hot rod or drag racing. But, it is not a permanent thing if you don’t want to permanently sign in with that one click.

    Note:
If you use Google, they have a settings section to have Google remember to save your sign in name and password. If that helps..

So, if you once clicked to stay signed in and changed your computer, phone, tablet or laptop, then sign in again and click the tab. If it does not work, restart your whole laptop or run a cleaner program. Your computer is full of tabs and sites visited and needs some cleaning out. Then your computer runs faster and works better. Had similar issues with the site a few days back. Would ask me to log in the middle of a post and then wouldn’t let me add pics half the time. Works fine now.
