Technical Light Sockets

Discussion in 'Traditional Customs' started by Ratchet57, Mar 3, 2025.

  1. The tail lights and front park/signal light sockets on my 50 Ford custom are shot, anyone have a lead on replacements or what are you all using now?

Any time I have a need for a replacement socket, these from Ron Francis are what I order.. the threaded part of it ensures that even if the hole is a little rusted out, it’ll still work. I’ve used both the single filament and dual filament versions… yes they are ‘billet’ but they are quality and youll never see them unless your looking at the inter workingshttps://www.ronfrancis.com/product/680https://www.ronfrancis.com/product/680

Look in the local stores for that Dorman 85860 socket. It's got a ground tab right on it to make an easy ground.

  11. Dorman is pretty good too. I have bought similar items from The Wiring Depot.

My Ford had those funky 5/8" tail light sockets. I went with 1 1/8" GM sockets. I did have to open the pans up accordingly.

  12. Dorman has them very reasonable. Be sure you mark the wires
