I decided to get up early today and drive the three hours to the swap meet at the Howard County Fairgrounds. It was mostly to honor my best friend of fifty years local hot rod legend Jack Turner. I really didn't need anything but he loved going to the swap meets. I miss all the stories he would tell and how he would blame me for getting lost. I miss you Jack. This trip was in your honor! The air was cold and the wind was brisk but there was a good turnout. Neatest thing I saw was the 1934 Chrysler Hood with the wild louvers. And as the last picture shows you never know what you are going to see
Nice tribute. We were there. Not bad on entry, but the never- ending wind picked up and it became fairly cold. Puzzled by the smaller than normal vendor turnout. Perhaps the chilly weather leading up. On March 21-22, come to the Ag Center in Westminster (MD). Large indoor arena effectively blocking the wind.
I did see the 34 Chrysler description however do not recall that particular design, must admit I'm not familiar with the early Mopar line but the hood design varied within the model year.
I missed the Lincoln Ne. E.N..W.I. Swap meet this year & it's really a crap shoot to have an early or late in the year swap meet when the weather dictates the outcome, the vast number of heated buildings has been the big factor of the Lincoln success as those attending over the years can testify, we have experienced high winds, rain, sleet, (more like hail) & increasing rental costs but thus far have weathered it all.
