I could have sworn that Project X had the filled gunsights in the hood during one of its iterations, thought I was losing it until I Googled it, nope, it was the Flashback 57 that Hot Rod magazine did.

I love the attention to detail on the heater block off plate. Stuff like this and grinding the casting marks into the heads are really going to make this car "right".

Buffed out the new color and pinstriped the trunk lid. There are no good shots of the lid but I'm going to assume that the same treatment done to the hood and cowl was carried over to the trunk. It's hard to see in the magazine picture but it's double stripes with a whoop-tee do in the middle next to the window. I think it looks pretty good. I did it with tape. I suspect Pop-Rod did the same back then. It was pretty popular. I think I bought all the tape with in a 40 mile area

    It looks great!

I'd love to check it out when you're done. I'm a little south, in Holladay.

While we are on the subject of a fuel pressure gauge inside a passenger compartment check out the proper way to do this, without introducing a fire hazzard. You will need a firewall pressure interface device.

What is the gauge partially obscured by the instrument cluster in the right picture?

Vacuum gauge. Note the gauge cluster below isn’t in that pic.

Buffed the hood finally and pinstriped the orange panel. Applied some Mascara around the hood scoops. The hood's just sitting on the car so I can get some enthusiasm. I'm still a long way from bolting it on. Wish my wheels would show up. It looks crappy with the rollers on it. DSCN5182[1].JPG DSCN5183[1].JPG 7.jpg

You going to do the hood scoop? Stupid question I guess if building a match clone. But did “X” always have the scoop?

Hey Rex you should post the other clone cars you have built. I was at Rex's place this week just to see the progress with my own eyes. Although i need glasses to read now, (and type this out Damnit!) It looks great to me.

Ok guys, lets test the power of the HAMB. I need to identify the stickers in the rear window in this picture. The stickers changed frequently and this is the best shot with this group of stickers. I can see Holley, Champion, Zoom and the one in the lower front corner is Bill Thomas. So the second to the right on the bottom row is unknown and the right 3 on the top row are unknown. DSCN5187[1].JPG

Second from left on bottom Bardahl possibly? Hard to tell for sure.
