Posted by don colaps above. Briggs bodied 4dr. That body had the 30-31 style cowl in 28-29. Lots of wood if I remember correctly, and the gas tank wasn't removable, well the outside top wasn't, it was part of the body.

Also posted by don colaps above. I saw this car close to 30 years ago at the Goodguys show in Pleasanton CA. I talked to the owner. If I remember this correctly, he was from Sweden, and had shipped the car to the east coast of the USA, and then drove it to the west coast. Super cool guy and the car was outstanding. I remember him being fair skinned, and was heavily sunburned and his face was peeling from driving it all that way without a top. He was having the time of his life.

I have a little project going on started with a butchered Briggs 29 body. The gas tank for sure is removable - that body style uses the common 1928-29 gas tank monted inside the cowl / under the cowl top. Idk if I’m making myself clear… haha

I think you’re very much correct! An outstanding car built in a home garage by a young dude (in his early twenties), as the story goes. The raw material consisted of one of those dreaded often frowned upon model a sport coupes.

  18. I agree about the gas tank, I didn't make myself clear. Gas tank is removable, but top panel is part of the body. Does that make sense?
