  5. Glad to see you back on here Mick, and also very glad you are ok after the axle debacle. Don't be a stranger if you can. The truck is looking fantastic. I have been doing interior work on the coupe as well. PM me anytime buddy.

Picked up this 671 quite a while ago, may stick it on the wife's car one of these lazy days.
Also picked up a Hilborn fuel injection manifold [cheap].
I made some aluminum tubes for it but may flare them later.
    Just some garage art...

    Hi Mike, I'm back.
Had a heart attack a while back but doing fine now.
Good luck with the upholstery, you'll be smiling when it's completed,

So tonight is our first Friday Night Gathering of the year [Concord, Ca.].
Taking the 30 pickup and the wife's 34; been gathering on Fridays for 20+ years now.
Hopefully my axles will stay in place this time.
Forgot to mention when that axle slid out we were on a 3 lane each way main drag
40mph zone at commute time, I don't know how I didn't crash into anything [no brakes].
    So Happy Friday guys,
    Mick

Good turn out last night, maybe 35-40 cars.
Both our cars ran great, zero issues.
    Happy Saturday fellas,
    Mick

More on the axle story, the new axles were fine, in fact they're 1541 heat treated forged alloy axles.
    Here's a few shots,

I was going over the HAMB rules, don't want to get kicked off.
I read that we can post 1965 and older only but no Mustangs.
So, in 2000 I was Sears Point [Sonoma Raceway]; my friend Bob
was racing his 10 second red '65 fastback," [I won't show a picture of it]
he threw me his helmet and said to give it a shot.
First driving his car, only made one pass.
351 Cleveland C4, 9", narrowed rear end, race car only.

    I dialed a 10.80 and turned a 10.91 at 124.99mph.
    So exciting!!!

This is the same guy I mentioned earlier that let me race his 64 Thunderbolt clone
[427 Ford, 4-speed] Mr. Blue, another 10 second car.

I like Fords, Chevys, Mopars in any order but to tease my Ford racing buddies
I picked up some 302 FORD connecting rods and used them as tail pipe hangers
    for my 72 Chevy pickup.
"Gotta" have fun, right? You should have seen their faces!
    Yeah, they still like me.
    See attached,
    Mick

At least you found a job for them that they should be able to handle without self destructing! LOL!!!

    What do you fellas think?
A friend of mine took pictures of this coupe and said it sure looks like your car.
Do you think he copied mine? Maybe.
Although it's a coupe and is running an early Hemi it sure looks familiar.

One of our old hang outs back in the 60s/70s,
Tik Tock off Ocean Ave. in SF.
Good place to negotiate a race,

Have to give a shout out to my long time friend [another car nut] Dave Hatchel.
We're both78 years old now but we've been close friends since the 1950s, grammar school days.
First shot [repeat/sorry] is Dave in front of the hot rod in it's early stages.
Second shot is Dave with his 63 Dodge 426 Max Wedge in 1968.
Third shot I'm helping him with the exhaust, check out those rear tires.
Fourth shot, the Torqueflight was heavily modified, shifted really hard, fast car! Won many street races.
Fifth shot, check out the shirt "Coyne and Hatchel Racing"
Sixth shot, his current car, beautiful award winning Ranchero.
He got married long ago and moved to Southern Ca but we email each other daily since we got computers.
Have always been in touch, such a good friend, lifetime friends.
    So blessed,
    Mick

Came across a shot from 1969, I built the pickup at my Uncle's house, 1563 Dolores St. S.F.
Cab and bed mock up, borrowed the ET wheels and "red line" tires.

And another, a buddy of mine, Jim, who was on my ship [Navy] was giving me a hand.
He had flown out here from Lancaster Pennsylvania to visit SF.
Yep, I put him to work...
