A nice 58 Impala Hello, The mode of the day, only when we were headed back from the surf adventures 50 miles down the Coast Highway for us. After the normal teen attire, (white t-shirt + levis +desert boots) the drive home up the coast was usually hot and then it was time to cool off without “t-shirts.” For several road trips in the Impala, we knew that was not going to be the daily surf transportation for us. Besides, having to pull out the rear seat back to create room for a couple of 10 foot long surfboards, it was not the most efficient way to get to the beach surf spots. Styling, yes, but for practical uses, well... No. Plus, it was the only time during our teenage years that we drove without T-shirts. Back home from an all day adventure at the local beaches. Jnaki This set of clothes was the “normal” high school teen attire for most teenagers. Blue/black nylon windbreaker jackets, Penny’s white T-shirts, Levis and Desert boots. Most of our friends usually looked the same with the same outfits daily at school, cruising around and at the local dragstrip. But, then, it was the way we dressed… simple and functional. YRMV Note: As the drag race days waned and the Spring/Summer vacations were coming up fast, the desert boots were changed to sandals without socks, to the “horror” of school administrators. But, as many times as we got called into the office, there were no printed rules prohibiting sandals for boys. YES! This flathead 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery took over the long/short surfing road trips and teen adventures for the next 5 years. T-shirts, shorts and sandals now becoming daily attire. Yikes, it sounds like the daily attire I still wear in our warm, sunny, West Coast climate area, even today… YRMV
Where is this? I thought TNT was an Aussie company,Thomas National Transport. They may have gone international but I can't recall that.
