    Hello,

Interesting old car. In the hot rod world, we had seen extended 57 Chevy Bel Air Limousines around May-June of every year, cruising down the PCH highway going to a high school prom night or such activities. The nice coastal drive with a car load of dressed up teenagers was a sight, when the sun roof gets opened and someone is getting blasted by the air, while moving.

At first, it was a bright idea in a field of black Lincoln Limousines. But, then in recent times, there are several companies that have such vehicles for rent. Prior to the custom builds, there were airport visitor transportation vehicles that were made for that trade. But, in the field of hot rods, no one way back then customized those airport vehicles into custom ordered limousines. Especially, multiple door, lengthened ones that certainly would have a hard time turning onto narrow streets or even parking anywhere...

The open roadsters were always a nice sight to see cruising around coastal cities and along ocean front highways. The wind in the hair, rumbling motor, cool stance going down the highway, and such is always memorable.

So, what do out of town/state visitors do in a coastal city for an unusual thing to do? Why rent a seat or two for a coastal cruise in the heart of So Cal vacation cities. The oceanfront city draws the visitors to explore the city, while others just come from all over to enjoy So Cal living. But, cruise around in a custom open air roadster/phaeton… of sorts…

No, we have never ridden in it… My wife and I have ties in Santa Barbara and have visited many times, over the years. It is one of our favorite places to spend time vacationing, visiting family and just stop over on our way up or down the coastal travels. We have seen this bright yellow Roadster/Phaeton many times, but chuckle each time... YRMV
