Well got this plasma cutter up and running. Have a few wire to hook up so it can go to work on a CNC cutting table.

IMG_2610.jpeg Tough job in the shop . It warmed up so I made a mistake and rolled up sleeves . You all know the little extra tab sticking out on a hose clamp . Well I found it . Blood thinners make life a mess at times . Looks way worse than it is . My fault for byp***ing the PPE .

It looks way worse than it is . It was bleeding pretty good . Just a reminder to all , try not to byp*** the PPE , it usually has bad results for being stupid for just a few minutes.

On the bright side the car ain’t done until you give it a little blood, just a little though. PPE is good I have do something dumb about every 20 years for a reminder. LOL

  14. Your episode hits home here, too. Hotrods are carnivores, I'm convinced. Maybe omnivores, too, when you count the "lettuce" they chew from our wallets.

Installed points distributor, new adjustable double roller cloyes timing set, Holley Street Dominator intake with Carter AFB (with @carbking s help) set timing to 32, 33 degrees at 3500 rpm. Should sound better when exhaust isn’t directed at the floor.
Excuse my poor video and hillbilly wiring for the Dirt Cheap Dart 318 I have about $870 in engine transmission and accessories

Clarence was backfiring through the exhaust at highway rpm's. Ran great at lower rpm's. I surmised a vacuum leak was preventing the vacuum advance from working. Plugged the vacuum port going to the brake booster and it ran great in the shop at all rpm's.

Installed hose clamps on all rubber-to-steel connections in the booster line. Runs great now. I think I'll drive it to lunch with the guys tomorrow. That's about 45 miles each way.

    We'll see how it performs.

Pix unnecessary. Anyone who doesn't know what a hose clamp looks like isn't on this board anyway.

Got my restored license plate instilled. Thanks @oldpl8s.

Thanks man. I can't take much credit for those things. I'm no body/paint man and hate doing it. A VERY talented man did over 600 man hours on the body including paint. Tom is one of those guys for which it's either perfect or not good enough. Paint color is Washington Blue; same code as Ford used in the 30's.

oldpl8s on here restored the plate. What little I'm capable of doesn't show up at first glance (underneath and hidden).

I drove it to lunch today about 40 miles each way. First time it's been driven this year. It sure felt good.

IMG_20250410_085925.jpg @Anthony Myric and Mike @50chevytx , both fellow Lloydfest veteans, got me fired up to finish my tripower setup. I got my carbs finished yesterday. I started trying to figure a homemade linkage. Hopefully make some progress on that today.
