Finally ready for DMV. My first ground up build, pretty excited to cruise it. Delaware requires an inspection for street rod tag, so wiper, seatbelts, horn, muffler, yadda yadda yadda. All the things that never entered my mind while building
What six bangers are you running? Looks like a kool ride must of been a fun build Good luck with the dmv
Do I see a 240/300 Ford? Be still my beating heart. Excellent choice. Be ready to shock some V8s! FWIW, My avatar champ car uses a 300 Ford six - with a crossflow cylinder head.
You actually spent all this time building a car for the street and never one frigging time checked your states RCW's for what required equipment you had to have? Most are just common sense items although a couple of things such as exhaust routing don't go along with current popular in some circles setups. = No megaphone headers with muffler inserts in Delaware as it has to exit past the rear most window and that means out the back on that car. https://delcode.delaware.gov/title21/c021/sc07/index.html Actually I can't understand why you didn't have it printed out and on the garage wall to check off on as you completed each thing even though I'd hope that you already have 75% of them just to have a safe to drive car. For years many of us have had the NSRA all 23 or their required safety inspection items on our shop walls as a reference I didn't find the all 23 list just the required list with a quick search. I'll say This though, If one's rod meets the Deleware street criteria it should pass inspection in just about any state in the country without a hassle. A couple of things will get some guys undies in a knot such as the height restriction on engine parts but if you have ever met a guy on the road who's forward vision is fully blocked off to the right by a tunnel ram or blower you quickly understand that.
@sparky232 Does your sate have / offer Year of vehicle tag registration ? Different laws & less requirements @ least in other states .
Yes I printed it out and did my due diligence, i just waited until the end to do things like seatbelts etc which i wouldn't have thought of throughout. No need to be a dick, Im not that stupid
I agree, some here excel in being a dick. I see the wiper in the picture, so I figured you had the other stuff your state requires. Even then, that inspection can create a feeling of being uncomfortable. Been there, done that. I suspect your inspection will go well, but you will have to keep us posted. The car looks like its going to be fun.
