Yes, it’s an old drag car. See the yoke on the front to drag it away?

You used to see some pretty sketchy stuff show up at some of those unsanctioned strips back in the 50's and even up into the 70's.

I'd bet that thing was a riot to race... I've personally seen allot of old race cars and hot rods built what we would refer to as "sketchy" today, and frankly they worked fine for the most part.
A stick welder for us was your drill and cut-off saw, just like you see in these photos.

I love that era, full of creativity.

That's not a fiberglass body, those rear shocks are fine.

It may have been someone's dream drag racing car that never made it to the track, or it could have been the fastest thing there that last day it raced! I could see anything from an inline 6 to a big block motor in this ride showing up at the local drag strip in the 60s. I wonder how the guy had the seat attached?

I have seen some real sketchy things guys have drug to our local oval dirt track back in the early 70s! Often safety was not their highest concern, they showed up with their idea of their car being the fastest thing there. Rules covering safety were never a concern at all, they didn't care, so why should we?

  13. I dunno. The coilovers and frame kickups along with the rod ends on the wishbones welded to the frame kinda make me think early 2000s. The sketch level definitely matches that era. Gotta remember two decades is a long time for an exposed car to sit out in the rain

    Very different, needs fresh wood.
I remember when that would be a $15 - $20 car, with extra rope.

  27. Those rims and tires with that bar for flat towing, looks like it could have been fun. I might not drive it , but I would love to watch Anthony have a go at it.
