Anna Haining Bates, one of the tallest women of all time at 8 feet 4 inches, poses with her husband in the 1870s. Together they had the largest newborn ever recorded, weighing 24 pounds and measuring nearly 30 inches. Sadly, the child survived for only eight hours.

The Mission Drive-In, San Antonio, 1950. Opened in 1948 on Roosevelt Avenue, it quickly became a local favorite for catching a movie under the Texas sky. Known for its towering neon marquee and Mission-style architecture, it served generations of San Antonians before closing in 2007. The site now houses a library and community center, but the iconic screen still stands—a piece of mid-century moviegoing history.
