The Alamo was once used as a grocery warehouse. French merchant Honore Grenet bought part of the compound in the 1870s and used it for his wholesale grocery business.

I remember walking across the old high bridge a few years before it was torn down. The walkway was just 2x6s, and as stepped on one it snapped in 2 That was an old, tired bridge!
