Funny, my Grandfather on my Father's side was in the US Cavalry and sent into Mexico to "Whip Poncho Via" . Wound up in what was called the MG or machine gun corp using French Hotchkiss M1909 machine guns. Pershing used Civil War battle tactics and was over run by Mexican bandits on horse back. Lost almost all of the MG's to Mexican bandits. Way to go Pershing ! Pancho Villa Expedition, officially in the United States as the Mexican Expedition March , 1916, to February , 1917. Then off to France to "Whip the German Hun".
